!!! Already a good thread, this tidbit is exactly why I try to read every post in a good thread. Can you describe what you mean? This is easy for me to believe, as I know "paint on" LCD tech was indeed highly researched about 15 years ago. There is no theoretical barrier, so I assume it was cost inefficient. I never heard any commercial lab had succeeded in developing it. What was the visual effect? (Were you based in Rochester, by the way? I was born in Syracuse, so I've heard some great stories from people who put in time there.)

Tv's keep getting better and the content gets worse. Hard to get excited anymore.
