Looks like Texas Governor Rick Perry is going to send 1,000 National Guard troops to the Rio Grande Valley.

He is expected to make the "announcement" today according to a State Senator.

Well maybe the problems we keep hearing about are as bad as many suspect.

This will be interesting.

1,000 could grow to ???

We already know of dead bodies and smuggling and Lord knows what else going on for a long time.

What do ya think Obama's "response" will be ?

Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to announce he will activate the Texas National Guard at a news conference Monday in Austin, said state Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen.

Hinojosa did not have details of the effort, but an internal memo from another state official’s office said the governor planned to call about 1,000 Texas National Guard troops to the Rio Grande Valley — at a cost of about $12 million per month.

The memo was provided to The Monitor on the condition of anonymity because the information is not yet public.

Troops are expected to enter the area gradually, building up to 1,000 after about a month, the memo said.

I expect Obama's response will be a quick sound bite live from a golf course,a fundraiser or Martha's Vineyard

1000 Troops, at best 300ish on guard at any given time....

I'm not exactly read on, nor have a good idea of what is going wrong at the border. Apparently something is going wrong and only those who live near the border are aware severity.

A crisis indeed.

Though I applaud Governor Perry for taking action ... ain't that just pathetic?

Here he has to disrupt the lives of a thousand people ... some of whom are bound to have other regular employment and families too. And for what? Because the Feds have taken the side of people who are breaking our laws.

I wanna know who in the heck it was who decided our standing immigration laws could unlawfully be overturned!!

I've lived in Texas for over half my live, and as much as I dislike Perry, Im glad he's actually trying to do something. This border thing has been out of control for years now.

Heck, just a year ago there was a cartel shooting/execution in "the best suburb of DFW", Southlake. And of all places to do the hit, it was in the town square. There hasnt been a murder there since 2000. If any fellow N. Texas ATS'ers are here, you know that Southlake is supposed to be one of the safest, nicest, etc.... suburbs down here.

www.nbcdfw.com...

The man gunned down execution-style at the Southlake Town Square Wednesday was an attorney linked to a major Mexican drug cartel who had been living in Southlake with his wife and three children, NBC 5 has learned.

Guerrero has been named in various Mexican news reports as a lawyer for the Gulf Cartel, one of the largest and most violent drug organizations in Mexico.

Man people do not take the time to watch a 10 minute video much less one that runs over 14 minutes but this may be one they really should watch, The video is by a 27 year working Border agent who says Homeland Security has taken over the border operation. A couple of things of note: Border Patrol has been cut off from the annual allotment of ammo and are not to fire their weapons; not even for training. They will be issued new ammo later in 2015. He complains about known criminals being let through the border and even brings up the Russian Mafia.. To say he is not a lover of this administration is a slight understatement...
Hype or just someone pissed you decide.. He strongly feels this is asymmetrical warfare.

There will be blood. Those Mexican cartels are no joke. The biggest blow the U.S. could deliver would be to completely decriminalize drugs.

With Mexican Consulate workers running drugs (coke) not to mention some of our own agencies with their finger prints all over loaded drug planes that have crashed it ain't gonna happen; to much money involved ever since Iran Contra (if not before?). Give the masses their weed to pacify them and let the big boys run the hard stuff if I had to bet will be the plan.

Ummm ... did I hear that right?? A retired Border Patrol Agent just said FEM is preparing for 200,000,000 (two hundred million) deaths!!!!!!!!

I really hope this guy is a conspiracy theorist.

ETA: He was off by a year in when the Border Patrol will receive their allotment of ammunition. I think he caught himself ... and I'll forgive him that. The guy seemed to really know what he was talking about and I understand his sincere concern.

Sky: You should have put this up in a stand-alone thread.

Thats for the video, 727Sky, that gentleman basically has confirmed my own musings on the border situation as well.

Which brings up the comment Obama made not to long ago..

It is almost a perfect asymetrical setup. No one is paying attention.

I thought about it but... I cannot substantiate some of the stuff he says and I did not want to put up with the Obamanaughts and their attacks. Our agitator/organizer in chief has no faults which is true for a socialist agitator... so just wasted breath/typing on my part. Anyone who wants to make a thread out of the video please feel free... You will get a star and a flag from me

Indeed. Some info needs to be spread so others can see it, even if they don't like it. Better to see, and have it in the back of your mind, then to be totoally blind-sided and caught off guard.

That is true however many would make excuses and say he was "just catching the cookie jar" if he were caught red handed with a mouth full of cookies and his hand in the jar.. One the other side it will be hard to blind side them for IMO there is nothing he could do that would surprise those who have looked at his back ground and his actions since becoming POTUS

I believe the potUS is on vacation and not to be disturbed until August 23.

I found the video posted by 727Sky to be informative and frightening. Almost looks like America is being taken over at the top level- as some have suspected.
By the time Americans 'wake up', I fear it will be too late.

We all need to get out and vote! Let's see if the will of the people can make a difference, like when we voted Nixon out of office when he ran for re-election!

I'm not sure about the guy's statement of reducing our population by 2/3, tho= unless the plan is to repopulate the country with South Americans.

Whatever response the "King" shall come up with, you can rest assured it will be both idiotic and treasonous.

Honestly, I was expecting this anouncement almost a Full-Week ago.

I SUSPECT that Perry was CON'd-to-Delay by this administration.

I also think .50-Caliber Gunfire! ... ( Border Patrol scrambling ) was the "Breaking-Point".

What do ya think Obama's "response" will be ?

I would quote Mrs. Hillary, "What difference does it make at this point?" ... when it comes to Defending-Your-Home.

OPINION: Perry? ... Presidential-Material, At-Work.
