Dark ufo seen on mars

I did a quick search using various key words and didn't see anything..

Not a bird, just a camera artifact. It's not an object at all.

There is nothing there in the other half of the stereo pair. If I wasn't on my phone I could do a blinky GIF but maybe someone else can do the honours:

If it was a real object, you'd see it through both the left and right cameras, as the images are taken simultaneously.

Just add it to the long list of dodgy pixels on the right navcam. Remember the "strange lights"?

Thanks I didn't check the other camera.. I was so floored that it wasn't already posted. I didn't follow some of my normal protocols.

You should have said it was a ufo on earth..then when 100 people write "bird" you can say..."ah ha!, its on mars!"...then it would get real quiet for a bit.

Exactly.

I've seen people behave like that on other threads where the usual skeptics will say a mysterious object is, say, a balloon. They will all be completely sure that it's a balloon and swear it is positively identified as a balloon. Then Phage or somebody will come along and show us all that it's actually an natural anomaly with the film or an artifact and everybody will say "Ahh, now I see". Then, suddenly, those balloon advocates will adopt the new (correct) explanation with pride never acknowledging that they were just as wrong as the people claiming it was a UFO.
