The ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union), after recieving numerous reports of non-substantiated FBI interrogations against US citizens, has filed FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests in several states to more accurately assess how government anti-terrorism task forces have been monitoring human rights groups and individuals. Many of the reports claim that citizens have been approached and interrogated by the FBI for none other than their affiliation with activist organizations or because of their travel to the Middle East. The interrogations raise concerns that the task force is violating the civil rights of US citizens, immigrants, and organizations without any valid basis.
USA TODAY- The ACLU wants access to law enforcement files that it believes will shed light on how government anti-terrorism task forces have been monitoring human rights groups and individuals.

In federal Freedom of Information Act requests, the American Civil Liberties Union (news - web sites) is asking for reports on "surveillance, questioning and interrogation" of people named in intelligence files kept by terrorism task forces scattered across 10 states. The bulk of the requests have been made in the past two months in several states, including California, Texas, Colorado, and Arizona.

The civil rights organization has been suspicious of the federally managed anti-terrorism units' activities since their dramatic expansion in the aftermath of the Sept. 11 attacks.

To me, this is where lines need to be drawn in the sand. Here you are, your average american, and you take a trip to the middle east on a sightseeing tour. Get home, and you got FBI agents waiting to interrogate you. Now it would seem to me that the FBI and Joint Task Force would do some background checking on people, immigrants, and activist organizations to see if there is really any cause for alarm, and if an interrogation is necessary, before showing up at one's door. If they are that low on real leads to be excersizing such futility, then maybe that says something in itself. Is there really the amount of terrorist activity purported to be going on in this country? Or is this a smaller part of a larger, more deceptive plan? We report, you Deny Ignorance.

this will be nothing compared to what will happen if Patriot Act 2 gets passed.

yes quite true, and the Patriot Act Two, also know as the Reversal Of Freedoms Act, will be passed after the next Terror atack. There will be no stoping it. But I guess the big question is, will the next atack be enuff to convince the elected ofishials to engage martial law, and thus the NWO.
