This is still unconfirmed and is coming form Interfax report
(what ever that is)
"(Reuters) - A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an
aviation industry source as saying on Thursday.
It said the Boeing plane was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Reuters could not immediately confirm the Interfax report."
Hopefully this in nothing more than a accident and not someone being a
little trigger happy but it came down near the Russian border where other
planes have been shot down.
BBC is just reporting it now, the plane was seen to descend and was found in flames. It is not likely there are survivors.
In edit, Malaysia Airlines have confirmed via twitter that contact was lost over Ukraine.
"On July 14th, Ukrainians lost an An-26 transport jet, which was shot down from an altitude of 21,000 feet, with eight crew on board. And only very
sophisticated weapons systems would be able to reach this height."
Unless someone has actual evidence of a missile being fired, it's way too early to say shootdown. Yes, it's entirely possible, given the area, but
accidents do happen. And with Malaysia having recently lost another aircraft, it's entirely possible that this was just a horrible accident at the
wrong place.
I probably wouldn't fly with them just to be on the safe side.. This is so sad, more innocent lives lost.. I wonder when the terrorist card will be
pulled, or this could be yet another plot to make Russia look bad.. Malaysia Airlines is certainly having a bad run this year.. I just feel really sad
for everyone on who was on board ..
Right now they're both blaming each other, and everyone is overlooking any other possible reason for it to happen. Like the fact that the head of
their maintenance department was a political hack, who had no real experience, and ran their department for many years.
