I have an idea, how about they do a story line about the rise of aids world wide,

WHO warns HIV 'exploding' among gay men, urges preventive drugs, AIDS deaths account for how much more young men dying, than gun deaths?

of AIDS in the 1980s pushed the world to act, a younger generation that has grown up among new treatments that make it possible to live with HIV are less focused on the disease, he suggested.

Today, this group is 19 times more likely than the general population to be infected by HIV, Hirnschall said.

In Bangkok for instance, the incidence of HIV among men who have sex with men stands at 5.7 percent, compared to less than 1.0 percent for the overall population, he said.

www.afp.com...

In its new recommendations for combatting the HIV/AIDS pandemic, published Friday, the UN health agency therefore for the first time "strongly recommends men who have sex with men consider taking antiretroviral medicines as an additional method of preventing HIV infection".

I like it. You can have Reggie have a Hangover-esque encounter with a Lady Boy a la Stu.

Its a shame that all the "entertainment" coming out of america these days is nothing but propaganda ..

G,day Pat.
well said and such a shame and such a waste
heck i grew up on archie comics. plus the likes of donald duck, dan dare, battler britian or was it brittan, the flash, superman, batman, broken arrow and billy bunter.
i have to admit i had no idea that archie comics were still around
the best archie line i ever read was when he phoned veronica's house and her dad answered the phone
archie's comment
hello is dreamboat there this is shipwreck.
i still get a laugh out of that one fifty plus years later

Ooh! Good dig on gay people! Way to add to the stigma that's already surrounding the virus! Good job! What a loving thing to do.

I don't know about you all, but I'm pretty much against gun violence and I support diversity, so this comic strip storyline doesn't bother me. I guess it would bother those of you that support gun violence and don't like diversity.

One White, Straight, Christian Nation!

Someone really has a problem with white straight christians don't they? I guess people can't just see this for what it is... An agenda being pushed because now is the perfect time to do it and milk your 15 minutes. Gun violence GOOD Gay BAD this is what you hear repeating in this thread? SMH get over yourself....

You know, I think of one thing when I read stories like the one you posted...

International Standard Version

In the same way, their males also abandoned their natural sexual function toward females and burned with lust toward one another. Males committed indecent acts with males, and received within themselves the appropriate penalty for their perversion. Romans 1:27

But I guess religion is just BS, isn't it?

Just read the list you linked to, it seems Spider-Man is fine and dandy (he came back into his body, which never died, in March of this year. Must be more movie money to be made).

I didn't know Green Lantern got killed though.

I wonder how Mr. Natural, Fritz the Cat, and the other guys in Robert Crumb's comic universe are doing.

I'm white and straight and my parents were Christians, so I wouldn't say I have a problem with all of them, for sure. But I do have a problem with the Aryan Nation and Stormfront mentality I sometimes see on here.

I guess people can't just see this for what it is... An agenda being pushed because now is the perfect time to do it and milk your 15 minutes.

I TOTALLY see an agenda being pushed. Everywhere you look, an agenda is being pushed. Some, I approve of and some I don't - and I would wager everyone in this thread feels the same way. I just don't have a problem with this one:

Gay people exist and being gay is becoming normalized in our society. And I like that. I believe in diversity. I support it. I think we can all live together if we just leave each other alone and "live and let live".

Gun violence is very real. And kids are the victims a lot lately. I think SOMETHING should be done. I don't believe in gun control (bans, etc), but I do believe we can do more than we are about preventing it. We're not going to wipe it out, but we have help.

Gun violence GOOD Gay BAD this is what you hear repeating in this thread?

No. But I read a lot of "Guns good" on the board in general, and every time there's a case of gun violence, people go out of their way to say it's a "false flag" or whatever, when a bunch of kids got killed. And Gay bad? Yeah, I'm reading that. I read that here every day.

To me? Yes, it is. Especially when people USE their religion to judge others, put them down, and to deny others their rights. You bet your ass it's BS.

No surprise.

Would you have a problem with it if the propaganda was for something you didn't agree with? Like ... lets say .... it was pro Hobby Lobby not paying for abortificants? Or if they were pushing fundamentalist christianity notions on kids?

There is freedom of speech in this country and the comic people can do what they want. I just think it's a shame that they are pushing their own agendas on kids. (and I actually agree with the marriage equality so it's not like I disagree with all of what they are pushing)

No kidding. I was born in '87 and even I didn't read comic books. By the time I was around 10 television and computers had taken over.

I think Marvel are the best. DC and Dark Horse ... not so much.
I wonder if the movies will follow the comic .... Captain America gets killed by Loki.
The comics have Odin killed by Frost Giants.
But it looked to me like Loki killed him and took his place in the last Thor movie.

Bias is inherent in our nature.

We can't all like the same things, or agree on the same issues. In that sense, we are all hypocrites to one degree or another.

We express freedoms for what we like and suppress freedoms for what we don't like.

Just like the recent Supreme Court ruling where people complained that men shouldn't have made the decision that they made, but were okay with men deciding Roe v Wade.

Tis the nature of the beast, I'm afraid. I'll just exercise MY freedom buy not purchasing the comic.

Welcome to the USA. That's a part of life here. I'm so glad I chose not to have kids. This is no place to raise a child, IMO.

I'm against gun violence and I support diversity. I also happen to think this is just a sad reflection of what the USA has been reduced to....pandering to wedge issues for money - whether it's politicians, Hollywood, Archie Comics, Hobby Lobby or Honey Maid graham crackers - I am just sick to death of anyone shoving their morals and politics down my throat.

I just want to live my life, raise my kids and let others do the same. Apparently that's not possible.... Just last night we were watching a Harry Potter movie on (I think) the Family Channel and twice a commercial came on for Big Freedia. My kid was like "Whaaa!?". Try explaining that and Bounce to a curious 11 year old who simply wanted to watch a movie.

OMG

The most politically correct ending of a series ever!

How unoriginal, sappy, and pandering to the liberals while trying to shame the right. A little too obvious.

Sounds like it was written cooperatively by Democrats/liberals/progressives - looking for the most "impactful" way to end a series.

Sob, sob

What a cliche of an ending and not all reflective of the rest of the series.

This is a pure propaganda piece and quite shameless at that.

I'm not being homophobic or anti-gun control in these statements. It is just so blatantly obvious the purpose of the ending. The spreading of liberal/progressive/Democratic propaganda.

While at the same time trying to "shame" anyone who is conservative (because Dems equate conservative with homophobic - which it is NOT - and with being gun toting murderers - which they are not)

This propaganda is so blatant that it is almost funny - guess that's why its in the comics!

Sure, it's possible. It's not easy, though. You can't just sit down and watch a movie with the kids and expect them not to see stuff you don't approve of. It's the world we live in. It's not pretty. And it's not going to get better - only worse.

I don't know what Big Freedia and Bounce are (should the ad be on the Family Channel?). But I can't imagine trying to maneuver raising a child today. Every day, I'm glad I don't have one. But I think if I did have one, we wouldn't watch anything on TV that we didn't rent.
