Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister, also said in a statement released Thursday, that “more stages were expected” as the operation progressed.
Ron Prosor, Israel’s U.N. envoy, addressing the Security Council on Thursday, said that the country's goal is to “dismantle Hamas’ rocket infrastructure.” He also declared that Israel isn’t looking for a ceasefire.
According to unnamed sources quoted by Israel’s Channel 10 news, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said he supports a limited ground operation focused on destroying tunnels through which Hamas smuggles long-range rockets.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Israelis Thursday night said the battle would continue, anticipating “a difficult, complex battle ahead of us.”
“If we need to go inside in a ground operation, then we will do it. These things are on the table. These options exist. We will not stop anything until the rocket firing ends,” he added. Asked whether there were any efforts to reach a cease-fire, Aharonovitch said, “Not now.”
Israeli troops continued to move toward the border in anticipation of a possible ground invasion, most likely in the coming days. “We will not tolerate rocket fire on Israel cities, and we are preparing to expand the operation with everything at our disposal to strike Hamas,” said Israeli Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon, who announced a special state of emergency in southern Israel.
President Gül warned Israel not to conduct a ground invasion in Gaza, saying that such assault would create very dangerous developments and such invasion would "seed sources of a huge hatred in the region."

Iran is a big player in this crisis as well.. What really creeps me out is how twisted some minds have to be to launch rockets from their very own house and put the lives of their very own family in danger..
I would never do that.. would you ?

The reason? Tel Aviv is at most an hours drive from Gaza. Like 40 miles?
To let the Islamics store more weapons etc is not an option when you are within spitting distance from an Israeli point of view. Right or wrong you need to knock out your opponent every now and then before he gets strong and can cause you real damage.
