Do you actually work for a living...pay taxes? Have a family to support....

You sound like an idealistic kid, completely out of touch with reality.

Sorry...that's what you sound like.

thank you for sharing yor thoughts with me twohawks, I always value learning from so many perspectives. But I feel its important for me make one point clear: the US situation with latinos is fundamenatally different than, for instance, the european situaion with Islamization. These latinos are more or less local folks. All the bad and shameful stuff in history, slavery, the oppression of the Indians, the holocaust, are rooted in people being displaced, not allowed to live as they have in their indigenous lands. US is close to the indigenous lands of the ancestors of these kids, so its impotant to have some compassion here, to walk carefully lest we fall into old mud pits.

I can't even tell you how many times I worked with these individuals that left the country to go go see their families and two months later they would be back at the job.

Same here and they were never fired.

Sorry to hear you have needed help, like many of us have, and have been turned down.

I don't directly blame the illegals. They are being lied to, in a sense, promissed an easier life, etc.

The idea, I feel, is to drag the whole system down, and break it.

BINGO! You win the Kewpie Doll. That has been the plan since Obama started his political career...

Allowing open borders is to hasten the process...nothing humanitarian about it. It's coldly calculated.

I understand what your referring to, however what we're talking about is an issue of land governance that was settled a long time ago. So the question arises is do we continue to argue land dominance or do we move from where we are today?

They are ours. Latinos, genetically are a mix between European people and American Indians. This is their land as much as it is yours and mine. They are Americans, in the broader sense of the word, by blood. I don't want to see white europeans not given a chance to live in their native land in europe, I dont want to see black people not given a chance to live in africa, I dont want to see jews pushed out of Israel, and I dont want to see the great grandsons and daughters of the people who built the mayan pyamids when colombus was an itch in his grandfathers pants withou freedom to live in their lands, the Americas.

WE have borders for a very good reason. When immigrants come here legally, they have background and health checks. Many citizens have lost their lives because of some illegals. The new illegals coming here are bringing in infectious diseases. There have been murderers, pedophiles, thieves, gang members etc. coming through the border and that is not acceptable.

And where is the compassion for our poor and desperate and hungry people? How do you think they feel when they see illegals being catered to on every level while they are left behind to suffer?

Obama is starting to thread thin ice, when his staunchest supporters start to turn on him...

Jesse Jackson hits Obama for putting immigrant children first

The Rev. Jesse Jackson criticized President Obama for putting unaccompanied alien children before Chicago, and argued that the federal government should award the Windy City $2 billion to help combat violence.

He is so focused on his agenda, he doesn't care how much support from his American base, he is losing.

Yesterday, the Black Caucus blasted him for basically the same thing. Doing for illegal aliens instead of the poor black people already here, in need of so much. The Black Caucus told the black voters to not automatically vote Democrat in the coming elections. That the Dems have let them down. Fancy that.

He's turned a deaf ear to the people who got him into office...that tells me what a shallow BS POS he is.

Think about the fact that we have actual indigenous individuals here, right here in this Fcc country that have been getting screwed for two centuries. How about that reality.

What are your thoughts on the "illegal immigration issue"

Its evident that our gov't (both DNC and RNC) does not wan't to really fix or prevent illegals from coming into this country for the following reasons.

1. The biggest obvious offenders and profiteers of the illegals are the largest lobbying sectors: Agriculture, Hospitality, and Construction industries. Illegals provide them with cheap undocumented slave labor with no benefits or legal worries.

2. The fix is simple: All they have to do is prosecute business owners who hire them to the point that its not beneficial for them to take the risk in hiring an illegal.

3. A hidden purpose for having illegals and welfare type programs is to create consumers. The gov't likes to ensure that a broke person gets a little in their pocket in order to become a good consumer . They do this bye taking money from the middle class and giving it to a person who normally wouldn't be able to purchase the good and services of our great Corporations.

4. Building a wall and throwing every American on the border is just a method to not fix the problem but make money for the corporations that are going to get the gov;t contract to build the borders and patrol them.

The illegal immigrants are a scapegoat on a problem that can be easily fixed. They just don't want to fix it and they wan't to capitalize on it by getting contracts.

Hello,

Can someone explain to me if/whether it's possible than AN ILLEGAL in the united states can receiver proper benefits?

It was/is my understanding that illegal means exactly that....ILLEGAL. They face deportation by ICE if the authorities find out that someone in in the country illegal. So..how is it possible that someone gets benefits.....or...as in the example of that one blogger who *claims* how illegals always get away easily from the courts and police and "only need to pay $10" and then can go home.

I once WAS in the states, proper immigration procedure and everything, I got my residency, green card, SS and everything and I wouldn't even have dared living there without the proper papers I'd probably had been scared #less just leaving my home : )

How's it possible that someone who is illegally in the country can apply for benefits?

If you did construction in the valley, we have probably crossed paths at sometime or know some of the same people. The best plumber I ever met was in the valley until he died of a heart attack at a young age, about 5 years ago. I have so many stories of illegals it would make your toes curl. But I don't think anyone would believe me. It's very hard to see people on the board day after day make excuses for illegals and why we should take care of them, when they don't know anything about it. I am with you 110% on the problems of illegals.

I digress, you say prosecuted the law breakers. I have to ask, how is that any different than trying to pass New gun legislation in the wake of terrible tragedies? To me it's nothing more than a band aid!

No one is denying that, but none of us alive today had anything to do with what happened over 200 years ago. I have some Native American ancestory and their tribe was almost completely wiped out by another tribe, not any white European. Indians also fought over land and food. The point is we are living here today and we have the United States of America with laws and borders.

I am also French and Irish. Pro illegal folks want all of us in the US to go back home to Europe. Most of us are of mixed ancestory so where exactly is home? This is our home now and my ancestors came here legally with great respect for this Country, its laws and language.

This is really a matter of what defines the United States of America as being exceptional. These are mainly children and mothers who have a serious claim to refugee status. If you disagree, then you must agree with Pres. Obama who has already stated that most will be returned to their respective countries. What we must do in the meanwhile is to care for these children at our doorstep.
