Immigration reform needs to be conducted in more than just border control. I believe there should be education programs set up for the immigrants of whom are allowed passage. That way, it would aid them in becoming valuable members of American society.

Protecting the border is only one aspect of a larger problem, and i think the Obama government should do more to help in quelling the situation. That said, i think it is unfair to label him as being involved in secretly orchestrating the incidents.

I do agree, partially.

The law does need to be enforced, yes. But some form of reform would not hurt, especially if it lifted the potential of immigrants entering the country.

A lot of illegal immigrants are trying to escape their homelands due to significant problems or threats to life. In such cases, they are asylum seekers, and are legally allowed to seek asylum. Not every immigrant arriving on the borders are asylum seekers, the same as not all of them are illegal immigrants.

The government needs to enter into proper diplomatic relations with Mexico and help them control their problems. Additionally, the USA should, in collaboration with Mexico, screen all immigrants/asylum seekers on the border, and accept those with legitimate cases, while sending the illegal immigrants back to Mexican law enforcement.

Indeed, but many of these incidents are new, and are causing immigrants to arrive on the US border. That means that you can't just ignore these problems as being 'old'.

Venezuela has been undergoing huge amounts of troubles this year, as has Mexico. I'm sure there are other states, south of your border, which are undergoing tensions too.

In general, i think it is obvious that tensions have always been simmering in South and Central America, but it isn't Obama's fault that more and more people, south of your border, are deciding to come knocking. This has obviously increased as the violence has in the south, and while i think Obama could do much more, it isn't as if he is sitting on his hands doing nothing.

As i said before, i believe that Obama should enter into diplomatic relations with Mexico on the matter. Hell, he should call a summit involving all Central and South American states, to address these problems. That way, all countries can tackle the problems together.

Not at all. Governments are expected to consider the potential problems and objectives in regards to national situations. A part of considering such problems, are compiling reports, which would most likely include thorough information, statistics and educated guesses. I'm fairly certain the estimation is not any random one. It is most probably an educated guess based on past trends, among other statistical information.
