Well, I must go now.

This discussion is getting nowhere, so I will leave you guys boot-lick each other.

Just one last piece of advice: don't ever become the monster "They" are. Otherwise you already lost the battle, before even the first bullet was fired.

Going now. Take care.

Yeah, couldn't be that a foreigner thinks that they have a say in laws and life outside of their own country. Nah....couldn't be.

You Progressives are a funny bunch. Always worried about what others have, don't have and always more then willing to tell others what they can/should do and can't/shouldn't do. Unless of course it is one of your own personal stances/beliefs.

It's not even one of the above. It's the plain, scientific method. But why would you care anyway? You are so sure about yourself. I'm just some canadian old goose.

I showed countless times the logic behind the OP. I showed how, in your ideal world, even more sufferings would ensue. I even tricked one of you guys into confirming my OP by putting his arguments before himself.

But hey, don't mind me.

I'm starting to think that all you really want is the Power for yourself. At this point I am almost tempted to let you have it, only to see it corrupt your soul. That is why I'm logging off instead.

Goodbye.

Please show me where a legal automatic weapon was used for a mass shooting within the US.

Further more, you "scientific method" was purely speculative.
You equate more rounds discharged at a higher rate equals higher fatalities.

You have been shown to be wrong many times over by myself and others that have actually operated fully automatic firearms.

You are willfully ignorant in this.

Not just a foreigner commenting on another countries issues, but someone showing to have no experience, only google searched knowledge of firearms.

Disingenuous as you were in the beginning, are now and will be tomorrow.
You have lost the argument and now have told us goodbye
in several posts and several times and you are still here.
I call that lying, what do you call it?

look you might as well argue with a fence post as far as I'm aware.

the folks on ATS who care about gun-politics are very much on the-pro-gun side, and will even decry endorsements of moderate reforms(mostly on when background checks are required and what information said checks have).

If you cite polls, even ones from organizations you've seen them cite, they'll either insist the numbers are made up, or misleading. The thread turns into an echo-chamber for pro-gun opinions, thus any victory, no matter how large, is silenced out by a mob of opposition.

they have their minds made up and you won't be able to change them, thankfully they're a minority IRL.

Because we know polls can be misleading depending on who writes the poll, the way the question is asked, the way the answer is interpreted, the sample size, where the sample was taken, and what time of day it was taken.

However, what is just pure data and undeniable data, is that purchases of firearms, CCW permits, and ammo purchases are at an all time high--by orders of magnitude. Unless Bill Gates is buying millions of guns for himself, the actual data shows that an increasing number of Americans want guns. Given the current political and economic climate, this is not surprising. Gun purchases (although not to this level by any means) were up during the Carter economic crisis as well.

like i said, The FBI released last month’s firearm background check numbers and it was the biggest March in the National Instant Criminal Background Check system’s history, and the third biggest month overall.

the FBI is putting this information out there.

Since 1998 the background checks have gone from 500,000 per month to the current 2,500,000 per month.

Does this look like Americans are voting with their pocketbooks and their purchases.

Ammunition has followed suit with 1.5 billion rounds purchased per month.

IRL the right to self defense is innate and inborn in all of Gods creatures.

The recent tools that humans have employed for this right are fire(arms).

The second amendment does not grant, license, confer, register, permit
or otherwise preempt the natural inalienable right to self defense.

The second amendment is merely one of a list of rights that
the government cannot usurp or negate.

IRL the FBI lists monumental increases in ICBC's since 2000.

DWTYD.

You win... your argument using Kent State and Katrina have convinced me that the US Military is willing to shoot down American citizens (if ordered to do so by the prez).

Better start saving up for an F-35 and related armaments to equip it with. Keep it in your garage and use the street as a landing field. After all, you want to place yourself on an equal footing (or better) if you'd rather not end up a crispy critter.

Oh how cute... sarcasm. The last defense of a person with no logical argument.

So, your argument is that it is utterly impossible for citizens to possess such dangerous weapons.

Yes. It is asinine to think someone is going to slap together a thermonuclear device without arousing attention.

And your second argument is that every citizens should have firearms, ammunition, and hand held anti-personnel devices. Nothing more, nothing less.

Then, my friend, you just proved my OP right. After several days of debates, you actually strengthened my original post.

If it is utterly impossible for citizens to possess mass destruction weapons, then any revolution (or even true defence) against the military is doomed to fail, because the military does have weapons of mass destruction, which gives them a net advantage over the pro-revolutionaries.

If every citizens should have firearms, ammunition, and hand held anti-personnel devices (nothing more, nothing less), then any revolution (or even true defence) against the military is doomed to fail, because the military has weapons of mass destruction, which gives them a net advantage over the pro-revolutionaries.

So why are you still beating the dead horse?

You are obviously deluded. If we are not using these weapons Iraq and Afghanistan why would we use them here? If we do not have the fortitude to destroy our enemies with them where would it come from to deploy them on United States citizens?

So?

I live in a major city...

I know no one that owns a gun.

Not one single person.

Who cares what some made up numbers (and they are made up) say?

Gun nuts are a minority because psychopaths are a minority...

...for now.

Sales numbers are based on successful background check numbers in the NICS system and company reports.

The NICS system numbers are kept by the FBI and you can read those statistics on their official website.

Those numbers mean quite a bit.

It doesn't matter if you THINK you don't know anyone who owns a gun. It is very likely that you encounter people carrying loaded weapons on a regular basis and don't even know it.

You might want to rethink your statement.

Sales numbers are posted by companies, publicly traded companies and FBI stats as well.

I think you are supposed to get some kind of award for this. At least an applause or something. 1 solitary star just doesn't do you justice. I would add a second but my mouse and keyboard are broken.
