Maybe this should be in another forum, but I'm asking a specific question. What kind of weapon is the guy on the left holding? It looks like a toy to me. More propaganda or is it a real weapon? Nothing I've ever seen before. And I have 30+ years in the service.

You'll notice that there is no ammo in the ammo belt he is wearing either.

On high zoom you can see his bandoleer does have ammo. It looks like pistol ammo stuffed into it. .45 maybe? Something short and fat.

I just went through a bunch of images on Google search and I saw a couple with the same stock set up and a foward mag..but not THAT far forward by a long shot. Why would you want a magazine that far up?? That's a long way from he trigger group and taking precious inches off the barrel length it can use, I'd think.

Odd....

What launcher too? Flare?

That, my friend, is the Derya Yeni Anakon Magazine Fed Shotgun. His ammo belt across his chest is carrying pistol ammo for his side arm. Around his waist he is wearing 12ga shells.

Here is the website of the manufacturer.

Okay, I take it by the lack of listings at Gunbroker and elsewhere online, there isn't an import version?

That looks better than the SAGA! I never would have guessed shotgun with how it looks in the pic.

I believe you are right. Ya learn something everyday I guess.

Still, it does look strange. Why the large scope on a shotgun? And what the hell is that a top the scope? A laser?

Damn thing looks unwieldy to me.

And if it weren't for import restrictions I would have purchased this weapon long ago.

It's one of the few semi auto shotguns specifically designed for combat applications.

The scope is for taking advantage of the long barrel using slugs.

It could be a laser range finder. I've seen scopes built like that before.

Yes. There are import restrictions on this weapon.

As I said above I would have bought this weapon long ago.

Yes... it's amazing how many people (and thankfully how many criminals) don't give thought to the true potential of a shotgun. That's a *BIG* bullet we call a slug, isn't it? Quite accurate in the right circumstances too.

This shotgun is cost prohibitive even if it weren't banned for import.

In the states it would be a little over 2 grand. Plenty of cheap ass mossy's and 870s out there.

Yea, I'm just not a big fan of carrying handle with forward scopes thats all... and on a shotgun its just weird, specially a scope like that.

Laser range finder does make sense tho

There are awesome slugs out there now!

That's still a big ass scope for a shotgun, which does have limited range.

Seems a RedDot would be better. Something from Trijicon or Vortex.

My Mossy will eat every shotgun round in existence. Though firing a 3-1/2 slug will leave a bruise on the shoulder for a few days.

Depends on how the cowitness between the irons and the scope is calibrated. But I could see that being pretty beneficial beyond the 100 yard mark which this shotgun can handle.

But project... why not the AA12? I'm not very "shotgun-inclined" but the AA12 seemed like a beast - plus by what I've seen its reliable

So is this.

But the AA 12, as far as I'm aware, is still an NFA item.

Edit:

Apparently a semi auto version exists, but it is north of 3 grand.

Oh, I've got the Mossberg 500A's covered the receiver frame/barrel for a third. Nice cammo finish across the whole thing and vented barrel on that frame, in case I wanted to swap parts into it and go hunting or something.

That one would be ideal though and I'd almost say worth $2,000. Give me a few years to get out of college, and I wouldn't hesitate a second to buy one if we could. That's nice. Just one of them with how versatile a shotgun is, and you cover most bases you need a gun for.

(In fact that thing could get real fun with some of the exotic/unusual shotgun ammo out there)

* Just saw your $3k correction .. Okay... Gimmie at least a year out of college and I want one!

I was talking abou the AA12 automatic shotgun.

Apparently there is a modified semiauto version out there but it is north of 3k.

It's also ugly.
