Ukrainian State Guard servicemen found an explosive device overnight on June 13-14 near the Presidential Administration in the downtown Kyiv.

State Security Service's spokeswoman Maryna Ostapenko confirmed this information to the Kyiv Post. "The device is undergoing the expertise," she said.

It was installed near the gate where presidential cars go in, reports Reuters news agency referring to own security sources.

"It was a container with five grenades and a kilogram of metal nuts," said the Reuters' source, who declined to be identified. "It was a really powerful device."

Andriy Parubiy, Secretary of National Security and Defense, could not be reached by phone to provide a comment on the issue.

Tema, a Ukrainian news website, reported that the bomb was found on Luteranska Street, which is close to the Presidential Administration.

Around midnight on June 13 a woman who lives nearby told the presidential bodyguards that there are some unknown people in military uniform in her neighborhood on Luteranska. Officers followed her and saw a 30-year-old suspect who ran away down to Kreshchatyk as they tried to approach him. After investigating the place where he was running from, the bomb was found.

Moreover, border guards found a piece of paper on the fence nearby with a phrase "If you don't stop the war - the war will come to you" written on it.

Meanwhile, President Petro Poroshenko's official website has not published any information on the issue so far.

"The terrorists will get an adequate response," said Poroshenko in a June 14 statement commenting the tragic event of pro-Russian terrorists shooting down Ukrainian transportation plane with military servicemen on board near Luhansk which led to 49 dead on the Ukrainian side.

“All those involved in the cynical terrorist act of such a magnitude, will inevitably be punished. Ukraine needs peace,” said the head of state.

President also ordered to set up a National Security and Defense Council meeting.

Oleksiy Haran, political science professor at Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, sees the possible act of terrorism as a measure of psychological pressure on Ukrainian authorities. "Right now not only military escalation happens, but also a psychological war," he says. "Maybe, this was not an attempt to assassinate the Ukrainian President, but to organize a demonstrative explosion as a part of psychological war."

Separatists may move on from the terrorist activity in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts to different regions of Ukraine which are currently separatism-free, Haran adds.

Sorry, but this sounds like disinformation and propaganda to me.

I don't believe the Ukrainians any more than I believe the Russians. The US and the EU would be well advised to keep out of a mess that is a legacy of the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Wow. This "news" made my day. Wish you could see my smile right now.
Russian terrorists...assassinate Ukranian president...unknown people in military uniform...lol
If Russia wanted to kill him, he would be dead in a week and without any traces. A heart attack, maybe. Lung failure.
But a bomb? Oh come on. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Whats real is how the Maidan animals trashed the Russian embassy in Kiev. Turned over diplomats' cars, all looted them for parts. All windows broken. Molotovs thrown. Police did nothing. This is madness. Vienna Convention? Never heard of it.
When some guys threw a couple of rolls of toilet paper at the American embassy in Moscow, they were caught and detained by the police.
Feel the difference.

Here. See for yourself. Peaceful protestors.
rt.com...

And the UN security council said :"No, it's all ok. Move along. Nothing happening here."

F*ing globalists. They've got it ALL covered. Al Quaeda is under CIA, Boca Haraam is under CIA, Ukraine is under CIA.
It should be GIA. Globalist Intelligence Agency. And GNN. Globalist News Network. Let's call things what they are.

But it is all okay for Russia to invade and annex another country on false pretenses, or is that all good and within the Vienna convention?

Now how does that work with Russia violating the pact they made when Ukraine decided to get rid of it's nuclear arsenal you know the Budapest Memorandum.

But in case you forgot here is the main contention of said memorandum...

The memorandum included security assurances against threats or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of Ukraine as well as those of Belarus and Kazakhstan. As a result Ukraine gave up the world's third largest nuclear weapons stockpile between 1994 and 1996.[2][3]

en.wikipedia.org...

So Russia is violating that, but that doesn't come into play because it's Russia and they are exempt from following the agreement they signed?

Russian terrorist. Where does it say it was a Russian terrorist?
Let's say because intensive Russian special forces attacks against Ukraine, they are really the main suspect.

(Of course, if we're really paranoid, we may say, that it would be a chance to commit a perfect crime, because all suspicion would go in direction of Moscow)

After Russian mercenaries just shot down Ukrainian plane with 49 dead what would you expect? That Ukrainians would be friendly for Russian invasion? Seriously - I'm curious, which reaction you would expect.

Im trying to work out how one replies to a post? There's no glossary of symbols. The point of reply does not avail itself. I have no idea where this text will appear, and i'm losing the will to be bothered with any of this nonsensicle format. These interactive sites seem to follow a trend design that is cluttered, clumsy and vague. This kind of organisation will be the death of us! I'm going to bed.....if i can exit this dialogue box!

I am struggling to see where it says Russian terrorist, intentionally misleading title? Yes? Been said a few times in the thread and you have failed to address it.

speaking about terrorists

On Monday, nearly 200 protesters, including some wearing symbols of radical group Right Sector, gathered outside the consulate demanding the Russian flag be taken down. The group was confronted by another mob of people who also were there, demanding that police “go fight in Donetsk.”

Earlier on Monday, there were reports that police detained four protesters carrying explosives and a knife outside the Russian consulate. It was said that the four were involved in a brawl with officers, in which several people were injured.

The chairman of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Igor Palitsa, said that the four activists behind the clashes are members of the nationalist Svoboda (Freedom) party. Palitsa said he has already received calls from Kiev asking him to release those detained.

That's because it's pure propaganda.

Here's a completely different perspective reported by RT, except this one contains photos of the bomb and suspects and is much more legitimate.

The bombs clearly contained water bottles with liquid in them, not "five grenades". Two suspects were arrested by Ukrainian police. This happened 200m away from a hostile demonstration at the Russian consulate which involved Right Sector nationalists.

I saw Ukrainian TV recently and just can't believe it's happening. All propoganda there is solely for the purpose of fueling hatred towards everything Russian. It's basically programming for self-destruction.
