I didn't want to advertise too much because I was worried my thread would get deleted again.

It is definitely real. This is in Iraq. Probably filmed over the last few weeks. ISIS is who is shooting and annihilating people, tanks, buildings, etc...They are shooting anybody who is in their way from what I can tell.

People are anti-american because it is popular these days. Nobody really knows what is going...

Not saying that we are perfect, far from it...but there has been fighting in the middle east far before the USA even existed. It will never stop, and religion is the disease causing it.

The website you mention seems to glorify gore and death, the banner image is certainly not an example of what's truly going on at all, rather an example of a minority of sick, twisted people.

Uhh I'm not playing stupid, I know exactly what's going on.

I figured I'd ask because normal protocol for posting threads is to give a brief summary of a video if ones posted, as not everyone can watch video.

Then there's the fact that it obviously depicts images that some people may not want to see.

Sorry if that's playing stupid, I think it's a fair request so everyone knows what's going on.

That's nice and all, but if it had been a video of drive-by shootings -- WHICH CLEARLY ISN'T OFF BASE, AND ACTUALLY TOOK PLACE IN THE VIDEO -- would you STILL ask 'what's going on' in the video? As if the s##t doesn't speak for itself... smh, ugh.

Yeah gore is not my focus. I would rather not see any killing, it really pains me to see..but like I said sometimes I force myself to watch it so I can understand the current state of affairs in the world.

How can you form an opinion on a situation by reading/watching regular news? It just isn't possible....

Reading that 10,000 people died in Syria is much different than seeing 10,000 people die in Syria...

Well, glorifying death wasn't the point. Recognizing that death was a daily aspect of some regions, as well as a primary factor in today's socio-political arena was more the point.

I'll remember to be more careful so those that share your watered down perception eventually catch on.

Go re-read what I said to the OP.

and read the title.

I asked if there were things happening in the video that weren't being reported.

People being shot and murdered has been reported, I got the feeling, without watching the video, that the OP was suggesting more was going on...like western mercs fighting with ISIS or something like that.

Yes,anti-american is what's IN,and people use it to excuse any mounstrosity other governments do.
As far as I can tell, American foreign policy is what everyone should be against, but instead of that we get imbeciles doing killings in malls, walmarts and community centers, and governments adopting historically failed social and economic policies just to remain the antagonist, letting their own people suffer the consequences(extreme inflation, basic food and hygiene products scarcity and social chaos).I'm not even american, but i've been keeping an eye on the events unfolding lately, and it doesn't look good, and I ain't talking about the usual doom porn in ATS.

Something big is gonna happen soon, I don't know if it is a massive planified terrorist onslaught on the middle east but it certainly looks like it,and if they keep their promise of invading Jordan, then Israel will come next. I'm hoping for the best: military cooperation between Iran,Syria,Israel and the USA. Who knows,it might bring them closer to peace, but these wars have been going since millenia....

Could it be possible that all these years they were just...conspiring and planning this? Seems unlikely but these events in Iraq seem to be happening very fast and very premeditated.

What are you up to ISIS?

I get what you are saying...but ISIS is different than anything we have seen in the past. How do you think they captured cities so fast? My point was that this video is new and gives you a small idea of what the Iraqi people have to deal with.

It doesn't matter whether there is some conspiracy behind it. I am sure there are PLENTY of things going on behind the scenes that we will never be sure of. My main concern is what is happening right now, and ISIS seems very well coordinated.

Very scary...I am truly sorry for what the innocent people of Iraq are going to deal with over the next few months/years...it is only going to get worse.

Oh right, because women get shish-kebabed on a steel pole every day on every corner, huh?

That's what's REALLY going on!

/sarcasm

Horrible stuff happens, yeah I get it, but to glorify it, that's just sick.

I look at live leak everyday, like I do ats..... sometimes new stuff is there, sometimes its the same old. Live leak has no ads over youtube, lately youtube makes you watch a 15sec ad for a 25 sec clip. ridiculous.

and just to edit/add: NO MORE OF OUR TROOPS SHOULD BE SENT TO SORT OUT THAT CRAP !, look, we should help, but sending troop on a one way ticket should not be it!

Ours meaning allies I would point out. The glaring fact here is if we, the west stand by and let Iraq become the terrorist state while ISIS committing atrocity after atrocity along the way to power which will have profound effects in the years to come in the most negative of ways. And the west, being the most technologically advanced militarily alliance of all time is bound and shackled by the media does not prevent this we will rue this decision.

I don't really agree with a lot of the posts regarding the USA on ATS. I won't get into a lot of it right now, this isn't the right place for it. I will say that inflation is not happening...if anything the price of my goods has gone down over the last few years(especially if you are smart about what you buy and when you buy it).

There are plenty of messed up things going on in the world, but the US economy will be fine. Just wait until some of the up and coming countries want a bigger piece of the pie. GL China, GL India...

It is easy to control people when you silence them and control the money supply...technology is changing that and people are wanting more and more.

The USA as foggy as it is, is by far the most transparent country in the world. We are also constantly under the magnifying glass so any mistake we make is instantly known. This is not how things work around the rest of the world.

Getting back to the topic...ISIS scares the $h1+ out of me...After the last few weeks and what they have gained in weaponry and reinforcements it isn't looking good.

How could anyone watch that video and continue to say that we should not intervene in Iraq? ISIS is perhaps the most violent of all Islamic extremist groups, and it is clearly obvious that Iraq cannot defeat them unilaterally. I can't believe people actually think this isn't their problem, and that an ISIS held Iraq wouldn't have any effects on them. Truly delusional.

We definitely should help. But, not send troops? I understand, however, if I'm not mistaken (which I could easily be), isn't the ISIS group that is doing all of this one of the largest groups of terrorists that have ever got together? Seems like it would be an opportune time to wipe them all out. I'd hate to come up short and miss that opportunity.

I agree with most of what you've said, and yes this isn't the right place.

ISIS scares the bejeesus out of everyone. I still wonder why the Iraqi army just abandonded the city...didn't even try and blow up all vehicles in a scorched earth retreat. From some articles i've read, some iraqi ex-military have been recruited by ISIS to take control of the cities, along with the money they looted (and suspected gold) from the bank in Mosul and the guns, ammunition, transportation and assault vehicles. All of that while the world is still thinking what to do.

First, thanks for not linking to it OP.. lol... I was having dinner not too long ago. Ugh... I'll skip seeing what the latest Jihadis are doing to consolidate power.

I do think these videos have their place though. When I was looking at driving the KBR convoys in 2004, I'd grabbed up all the A.Q. execution vids I could find because I wanted to know what I was really looking at over there. (This was, my luck, around April of 2004, for those who recall events in the war). Anyway... They are the worst things I've ever seen, and the audio is something I'll die with clear memory of....while willing to give anything to lose those memories entirely. You can't unsee some things...and will spend a long time trying.

But...perhaps everyone should see a head chopper vid or a summary street execution vid from these fighters, at least once. Folks need to see when we speak of evil, it's not figurative and it's not abstract. It's tangible and carries through some men's actions every day somewhere in this world. Right now....that is Iraq.

Completely agree, after watching the brutality of these people the conclusion has to be killing as many of them (ISIS) as possible, and in the years to come, watch and dispense them as necessary. If we don't it will spread to the US, and we will be back in Iraq forever and/or the middle east forever. Trying to control the uncontrollable. I don't even know if this kind of mindset can ever be corrected they think nothing is wrong with driving down the road shooting and killing muslim people while driving. We have poked the hornets nest time to be men and finish getting rid of the nest. We can't leave Iraq to these kind of people, for both of our countries.

Your second amendment right becomes very clear, it is never more important than now after watching this video. At least here we can shoot back. Did we ever find out if US military disarmed Iraq citizens upon occupation? This and the gutless Iraq army could be why it was so easy for ISIS to advance.

People WANT to be ignorant of these situations. They CHOOSE to not watch these kinds of videos. It is much easier to just pretend these things aren't happening. I liken it to your alarm clock going off in the morning to get up for work, but all you want to do is just stay under the covers where it is warm and comfortable. People want to be comfortable....and can you blame them?
