Barack Obama has just made a statement. Here's what he had to say:

- Obama stated that the USA will not send any American troops into Iraq, and that he will be analysing the situation in the days ahead.

- He has further called on Iraq to step up and make hard decisions

- The USA will pursue intensive diplomacy in Iraq and broader region, in order to ensure deeper stability.

- The USA's top priority is to remain vigilant on any dangers to American citizens in Iraq.

Really, all fluff and just repeated statements from prior media releases. Pretty disappointing.

Yup...we're in the regular holding pattern. I guess when he finishes his smoke, and getting his teleprompter programmed by Valerie...he'll stroll on out and tell us what she said...

Hahaha.

Seriously, i wonder what his position will be. I don't think air power will work against ISIS...that is if Obama is even considering military action...

Get your tanks and grab your guns...

I'm thinking limited airstrikes and a lot of drones...

He's never been on his game....unless he's on a late night talk show fawning over some hack comedian.

It takes time to get boots on the ground. Air strikes are a lot faster.

Nope...he's basically saying it's their problem. That we'll monitor the situation, and figure out how to protect our interests over there....

I wonder why we aren't boots on the ground yet? I guess no oil fields, as of now, have been threatened.

The Iraqi government of Maliki asked them to go. It was a non-negotiable point. Oh and the Kurds now control the oil fields around Mosul.

Obama just gave the green light to the newly forming caliphate....I predict gas prices will shoot up a couple of dollars a gallon in the next 9 months.

WTF Barry?
Are you trying to look like a weak wimple in front of the world?
What did all our soldiers die for if not to prevent these kind of murderous sub humans from taking over the middle east?
How can this be left to the Iraqis-we laid the foundations for this sheet...
I am talking the UK where I am from, and USA.
Our people died for this to be the result?

Grow some balls obama please.

How many times have we screwed over iraq now?
And how much blood.
Yet Obama seems to ignore the sacrifices, which is utterly contemptible IMO.
One of my mates who was over in Iraq for 2 tours is close to puking over this-I mean it,hes actually fighting to not be sick over what he feels to be a massive stab in the back to all who fought in the "war on terror".
