www.thegatewaypundit.com...

What is going to happen to these people, it looks like they are just rounding up men.

This is awful look how many of them there are, its like concentration camp stuff, seriously this is really bad.

This won't likely end well...and this is the old school way of establishing area control, if this plays out like I fear it may.

It's brutally effective, but old school as in downright dark ages.

thats what I figured, and I read Iraq has been asking for help for a year, a year and nothing?

I don't like watching this is real time, and this is the stuff you read in history books not watching them and feeling helpless

How is it you can round so many people up, the militants are obviously out numbered, how is it they don't fight back?

I really don't know except to say it's a defeated people they are rounding up. Broken hope, broken morale and not seeing anything else as viable to do. I wrote a whole thread about it in fact and how the Vikings used tactics to generate the same end result. It's baffling to watch from the outside or across history, The Vikings took down and wiped out settlements and villages that very much outnumbered them in warm bodies...but not fighters and their reputation for unhesitating brutality broke morale before they even got there.

The trouble is that it isn't a situation which will be resolved
by air strike or US Boots on the ground. air strike my halt the
pace but that will be the absolute most good that would
do. and that is if iraq remains an in-tacked sovrin nation. if not
you may see a splintering of iraqie territories into enthnic
states, with kurdish, sheite & shea, territories.
so weather the US has the "Stomach" for war in iraq is
irrelivent. The main question for the US and the
west is how best to approach this to secure the
oil fields. otherwise you'll see a massive spike in oil prices.

bet the good old days of a stable iraq ruled by an iron fist
seem like a beautiful dream, now for those at the state department.

So you think sending our military in won't create more too? I'm pretty sure that's how they were able to recruit so many in the first place. We can't seem to manage collateral damage enough to not enrage whole villages…which then send their young men to fight to avenge those innocents we killed.

Oh yea sure. These guys are saints seeking justice for the wrongs done it. LOL. A bunch of psychopaths intoxicated in the vacuum of power, thriving on the fear, living the dream.

No let Iraq split up and let the Arabs handle their own problems. Not worth one more drop of American blood. Wonder how many solar farms, wind farms, nuclear power stations we could a built for 2 trillion we spent on Iraq already?

I would say it sounds like a total lack of strong leadership here, which is what they are used to, which is what they need. That's what folks act like after years of living under the boot of a strong man and listening to the babbling that comes out of those tall pointy things. They flee in the vacuum.
