Ok, you know what else exists?

Murder.
Pedophilia.
Rape.
Beastiality.

Why are we stopping at LGBTQ then and why is it age appropriate?

Maybe a more sane approach would be to not single out anybody. If were gonna bring LGBTQ to the table age inappropriately why not open the table to all that stuff too.

Unless of course that stuff is acceptable to you, you seem pretty open minded.

Ummm aren't the 4 things you listed illegal?

If you really believe in what you just wrote ..
I am very concerned :-|

When I was a kid, no one had to tell me to behave, mind my manners or be nice. I just was naturally and always tried to help the underdog. I was born that way. And no matter how many films they show or books they read, the mean bullies will still be there, they'll just hide it more. Most students today are very tolerant. It's the few bullies that aren't and I doubt they'll change after watching a few films. There will always be a few bad apples in every barrel.

It’s irritating when people cry and yell about not having other's ideas shoved down their throats but they are all too willing to shove their ideas down yours. It’s so damn hypocritical.

Why does this need to be taught to school children ?

So that they have an alternative to ending up like their ignorant, bigotted parents who shouldn't have had children in the first place.

And you would always have the choice to take your kid out of the class.
I bet the parents got a hand out of what was going to be taught. It is public schools, you are not going to agree with everything that gets taught.

That's true...

You are correct. I can remove my child. Then they become a spectacle.

There are just a few things I don't want the State to teach my child.

This happens to be one of them.

Maybe someday, you could be in charge of who gets to have children.

Stay in School and study real hard.

I have faith in you.

what should be taught is anti-bullying period, end of story. no need to promote anti-bullying only against specific special interest groups only. it should be encompassing any and all bullying, be it over sexual orientation, how well someone does at sports or school work, how much money their parents have, cloths they wear, disabilities and deformations, ANYTHING and EVERYTHING that someone might be bullied over.

the stupid thing is by doing it in this manor of focusing on specific special interest groups and not just covering ALL bullying will in the end result IN people in those groups being targeted for bullying. kids are not stupid, they will clue in that there is a reason to bully people of those groups, since the root of bullying is over differences, by highlighting certain groups they are in fact showing those kids there is a difference. the very fact of focusing on those groups will be yet another difference being pointed out to cause the bullying. rather interesting way to promote bullying people of those groups. nothing like painting a target on certain people. and kids have long memories for stuff like that. there was a girl in kindergarten who peed her pants one day, she was made fun of and bullied at least up to grade 4 over that accident, likely all throughout school but since i moved after grade 4 i don't know for sure. so figure these kids are too young right now to understand something like sexual orientation, when they do get old enough they will remember that sexual orientation was specifically taught as being different and heaven help any kid who decides they are gay at that point since that earlier education will end up causing them to be bullied.

When is my class and my race and my religion going to be protected ?

When is it going to be illegal to say or think bad things about me ?

Since when did I have to conform my thoughts and feelings so I didn't hurt your feelings ?

Why does this need to be taught to school children ?

Why must my agenda be held hostage to the irate voices of a few ?

When do I get to say poor pitiful me, I have been wronged ?

Seems like you are doing enough whining and playing victim to cover it enough for everybody.

So yeah I had to look up what the "Q" meant in LGBTQ because it seems to keep amalgamating lifestyle choices. Apparently it stands for queer. Isn't this a bit redundant?

Why are transgendered people lumped into the tolerance discussion in this particular instance? Arguments can be made either way for the other descriptors but the transgendered really? what is that like half of 1 percent of the population?

At what point can we just consider this a choice? Is it the point when someone decides to undergo procedures to self mutilate in order to force others to accept their delusion that they are a gender that they are not nor can ever be?

The only propaganda going on is by the thread starter, making is seem like the school district is making elementary school students watch gay porn.

The fact is the videos are age appropriate. For younger kids, it is basically: some kids have two mommies or two daddies.

This thread is also not making any sense. The two different resources quoted have nothing to do with each other.

It seems like you are getting your tactics from Faux News. Sensationalize, create hate, and then add material that has nothing to do with the subject matter.

Not true. Kids are not born knowing racism.

years ago I saw a little black girl and a little white girl yelling at each other. They weren't even school age, they got into a fight over a toy. The little black girl was calling the other white trash and the little white girl was using the N word.

So where do you think they learned that? Sesame street?

My elementary school was all white. So the kid who got isolated was the one Jewish kid. Why??
Because we had no idea what Judaism was. All sorts of crazy rumors went around.

if someone had an assembly and explained different religions to us and we knew what they actually did in their house, and that they didn't avoid Christmas to worship Satan, that poor kid wouldn't of been so isolated.

I am fortunate that my son goes to an extremely diverse school and has grown up with all kinds of people. Including gay parents.

Guess what, he doesn't bat an eye at anyone different. His bff is a little person.

You can be big, little, tall, short, fat, green, blue, purple. Doesn't matter. He only thinks you are weird if you don't like to play Minecraft.

I teach my son to not only handle bullies, but one day he may have to defend his bff against them too.

Must be awful for "Christians" to be told that "they shall not judge and treat people nicely instead of calling them sinners who will end up in hell" behaving instead like Jesus preached.

I see a weird difference between what Jesus preached and what some "Christians" do. I think they need more time really thinking about what they are being told to do in the bible and maybe not following people who are spiritually blind as a bat.

You don't have children do you? Kindergarten has significantly advanced. It is now first grade. They are doing math and reading.

Also they do have an interest in each other. And if you think children are totally innocent and have no idea about the other sex in first grade, it is going to shock you when I tell you that they already start pairing off and have girlfriends and boyfriends.

yes, it's amazing how these groups don't want to treated differently but want people to see that they ARE different.

like you said, or not, these kids will grow up knowing the others are "different."

it also might cause some serious confusion in some.
like hanging out with your best friend. how gay is that?

kids are cruel. i don't think they need more ammo.

Christians are only Christians for an hour and half on Sundays. I think I have met one, maybe two Christians who were not complete hypocrites and bad examples of their religion.

If you are a born again, I immediately don't trust you. Life has taught me that when you have a religion that gives you forgiveness and redemption, people use it to justify their bad actions and then get a clean slate on Sunday. Born agains are hiding some serious issues and behaviors behind their religion.

So don't teach your kids that not everyone is like you?
People are gay, get over it
And what is your class and race that you want protected.

How about I teach my child when I feel they will understand it.

I don't care who is Gay...I care my child be taught this issue when ready.

I promise not to teach your child anything about sex or other social choices.

Can I have the same courtesy ?

This pretty much hits the nail on the head. I don't think that these videos are pornographic (which is what the OP seems to be trying to imply), but sexual choice and orientation is very much tied in with subjective value systems. That should be left up to the parents. I make an exception for teaching kids "safe sex" but there are plenty who would disagree and I can see where they are coming from.

For the record, I am bisexual. I mean almost smack in the middle on the Epstein Sexual Orientation Inventory (ESOI), and I don't think it is the job of the school to try to instill whatever politically correct values are in vogue at the time. What goes on behind my closed doors is my business. What I teach my daughter about that is my business and conversely if there is a family that truly believes I am going to hell (or that I am morally defunct or whatever) because I am a woman who has had sex with women than that is their business. We all have a responsibility and right to bring our children up in line with our values and beliefs. This is one where the school should stay out of it.

There are some Christians here who really do follow Jesus teaching from my point of view. They are quite beautiful in their behavior. If all Christians where behaving like them I would like to be a Christian too.

Just to make it clear. Consensual symbiotic sex between 2 equal unattached adults is not a sin since it follows the golden rule.
