The following info appeared on Senator Chuck Grassley's website early on May and the same day he put it up for the public to see, which I saw with my own eyes, his inquiry on his webpage was taken down completely without any explanation.

I was responding earlier to a thread made by another member when I was reminded of this incident yet it seems that it wasn't reported here as I did a search and nothing came up on ATS regarding this.

When this info first appeared on Senator Grassley's webpage I wasn't able to post it, but that same day and only a few hours later when I was able to check it again, all the info on this inquiry was taken down.

Here is what the link looks like now.

www.grassley.senate.gov...

What happened was that early on May 2014, Senator Chuck Grassley put on his webpage information about an inquiry he made to the Department of Homeland Security in which he stated to had seen email correspondence between U.S. government agencies under the Obama administration to pretty much keep their hands off terrorists that are/were on the forementioned list.

Anyway, thankfully at least a few other websites have some info on this whole ordeal, but there is nothing about the results of the inquiry made by the Senator. He did mention a response he got from the DHS, but all they did was to promise they will answer him but in an appropriate method which will not be on writing.

Here is part of the information which has been saved.

DHS Emails Reveal U.S. May Have Terrorist “Hands Off” List

MAY 09, 2014

The Obama administration appears to have a terrorist hands offlist that permits individuals with extremist ties to enter the country, according to internal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) documents obtained by a United States Senator.

It’s unimaginable that any government would do this, but it seems like the Obama administration is constantly breaking new ground. The disturbing details of this secret initiative were made public this week by Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley, who has obtained DHS electronic mail discussing what could be a terroristhands offlist. The exchange includes a 2012 email chain between U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) asking whether to admit an individual with ties to various terrorist groups. The individual had scheduled an upcoming flight into the U.S., according to an announcement issued by the senator.

The person was believed to be a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and a close associate and supporter Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, according to the mail exchange obtained by Grassley’s office. The terrorist suspect had also been in secondary inspection “several dozen times of the past several years,” the agency emails reveal, but had not undergone a secondary inspection since 2010. This seems to imply that the suspect has been on the U.S. government’s radar for some time.

It gets better. The DHS emails also reveal that this particular terrorism suspect has actually taken legal action against the U.S., presumably because authorities violated the hands off policy. The subject “has sued CBP twice in the past and that he’s one of the several hands off passengers nationwide,” according to the DHS emails obtained by Senator Grassley’s office. The documents go on to say that the terrorist’s records were removed and that the DHS Secretary (at the time Janet Napolitano) was involved in the matter.

This is pure insanity and the senator has tried for months to get answers from DHS. In February he wrote a letter to DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson saying this: “I’m puzzled how someone could be a member of the Muslim Brotherhood and unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, be an associate of [redacted], say that the US is staging car bombings in Iraq and that [it] is ok for men to beat their wives, question who was behind the 9/11 attacks, and be afforded the luxury of a visitor visa and de-watchlisted. It doesn’t appear that we’ll be successful with denying him entry tomorrow but maybe we could re-evaluate the matter in the future since the decision to de-watchlist him was made 17 months ago.”

This is happening while to this day law-abiding American citizens, and other law-abiding passengers that come to, or through the U.S. to link to other flights out of the country are subjected to unlawful searches in U.S. airports.

The same day the Senator had put up this info it was taken down with no explanation whatsoever.

The senator had become frustrated by the response and inaction from the DHS and other government agencies and went public, but his info was almost immediately taken down.

Did anyone else see this?

Here is a Washington Times story that also mentions this inquiry and how the DHS has been "stonewalling" Congress on the terrorist hands off list inquiry made by the Senator.

DHS stonewalls Congress on ‘hands off’ list for those with terror ties

By Adam Kredo — The Washington Free Beacon

Wednesday, May 28, 2014

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is refusing to answer Congress’ questions about the existence of a secret terroristhands off list that is said to have permitted individuals with terrorist ties easy entrance into the United States.

The existence of the hands-off list was first publicized earlier this month by Sen. Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa), who released a cache of internal DHS emails detailing the lists existence and a discussion about permitting an alleged member of the Muslim Brotherhood to enter the United States.

The revelation that individuals tied to terrorists were given special treatment drew outrage among lawmakers and led U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), one of the agencies involved with the list, to hold a closed-door briefing with Grassleys staff last week, according to a senior Senate source with knowledge of the meeting.

The Washington Free Beacon has further reported that the documents are part of a larger campaign by DHS and its former head Janet Napolitano to purge the internal security records of potentially hundreds of terror suspects, allowing them to more easily travel in and out of the United States.

When questioned by Grassley’s staff last week during the closed-door briefing, CBP officials refused to answer multiple questions about the purported “hands off” list, according to Grassley spokeswoman Beth Pellett Levine.

“The briefing on Tuesday yielded next to nothing,” Levine told the Free Beacon.

CBP officials would not address the specific emails detailing the “hands-off” list and maintained that no such record existed.

Good find.

What's next? This Administration will probably start demanding that Sharia Law be a part of the Common Core Standards.

His Exodus can't happen soon enough.

Makes sense. You want to take out a terrorist? "Leak" a "secret" hands-off list and let his buddies wonder why he is on it.

That doesn't make sense. The emails occurred between government agencies which Senator Grassley discovered. He tried to inquire about the "terrorist hands off list" but the inquiry went nowhere. Then he tried to go public and his entire webpage with info and links was taken down within a few hours.

What you are implying doesn't make sense.

If the information stayed up, it wouldn't seem like much of a secret, would it? Any spy would be leery of information obtained too easily.

I saw that on Burn Notice.

But the info was taken down within a few hours of it being put up. All the links to the emails were erased completely, and they held secret meetings to discuss this, but at the end the Senator and his staff said that nothing came out of the secret meeting. The DHS and other government agencies didn't want that info to be leaked which is why the Senator's website with all the info was taken down.
