My whole life has been full of paranormal experiences of many different types. I don't believe I am a medium, psychic or anything like that I just think that kind of stuff is drawn to me or maybe I am drawn to it if so its not by choice. So my question is do you think some people are just more susceptible to these types of things or is it just coincidental? If some people are just more susceptible than others why? Also do you think things like this can be passed down through generations?

*I have searched for other threads on this topic I didn't see any so if there is I apologize and please link me to it.

Yes (short answer) pending anyone's spiritual beliefs, you will hear a lot of different answers. Can this be passed down generational wise? Yes, sometimes it skips a generation but yes. This is where some get the idea that all this geneolgoy being done is to find the "bloodlines". Some say otherwise. Can one be sensitive, more sensitive than others? Yes. The answers really are not that easy.

What do you think?

It may have something to do with calcification of the pineal gland. If yours is working properly, you should at least be empathetic. We as humans notice the change in surrounding energy the most. We've all felt it. Like when a person walks into a room and changes the atmosphere (for the better or worse). It's there aura, thoughts, and feelings that we pick up on.

I do think some are more sensitive. What I still search an answer for is why. What causes some to be more sensitive and others not? Sure there are some people who ignore these things and will deny it even if they have seen it they make up excuses but some people truly will go a whole life time without seeing anything or anything happening to them while others are constantly going through these things.
Do I think these things are passed down generations yes. Yet again, why?

I do have traits of an empath but I don't think I am an empath just sensitive to things like this.
I thought a person had to work at using their pineal gland?

I think the question you should be asking is are some people "too" sensitive,

I think there are far too many "delicate flowers" is society. Everything should be in balance.

not overly sensitive and not overly apathetic.

O.k. here is my take on this...

There is considerable evidence to suggest that the brain is not in fact the creator of consciousness but is in fact a receiver... something akin to a radio.

That Consciousness itself is omni present throughout the universe and our brains and the brains of all conscious life tune into a tiny infinitesimally small frequency of this consciousness spectrum.

This way of thinking explains many observable phenomena such as identical twins having a "link" to Remote viewing and psychics.

This also creates a kind of hive global mind somewhere at the periphery of our self awareness.

Most peoples brains are hard tuned into a very specific frequency of consciousness and they are unable to alter this....

Other people have the ability to sweep the consciousness spectrum and are able to pick up on other thoughts and feelings that exist or indeed existed previously.

This is what I believe creates the varying degrees of sensitivity you are talking about....

Though let it be known the "is there a bob, darren, or smith" in the room type of charlatan are far more prevalent than those with genuine ability.

Peace,

Korg.

I think that goes along with what I'm asking. With the ones that are overly sensitive is there anything they can do to stop it?
Sure there are good things that come out of people like this but they also deal with a lot of bad things too and it is my understanding you have to take the good with the bad you can't have one and not the other.

Any form of pursuit that requires you to fill your mind or to capture it's focus should be employed to reduce the effects... though this will only be effective while you are doing said pursuit.

Some people never learn to tune out when they want... others it takes a great deal of self discipline.... What you need to do is increase your self worth and your internal EGO.

This will give you the strength to not get washed away in the flow of it.

Peace,

Korg.

I agree but there are usually ways to weed those out.

Totally. But it's nothing in stone. You can find generations of a family who all need to wear corrective eye glasses before they hit grade school and you'll find others who pass along great eye site or music ability, etc.

And much like music ability, those that don't seem accelerated in that sense, often sound skeptical or even sometimes bitter. For example, I have friends who are neither spiritually gifted nor musically talented. They are very outspoken when it comes to anything about paranormal or spiritual matters and often seem personally offended by the fact other people believe it. When I would go to open-mic nights or listen to music, they would have that same exact disposition of bitterness and skepticism while I remain completely baffled that other people can't play music or connect to the other side.

I feel the same way when I see somebody draw. I can't do it. I can't draw a hand or a decent face and even simple shapes I draw look like my five year old daughter did it. When I see somebody do it, I'm totally baffled by it. I think "I have the same biology, I have the same parts... why can't my hand do the same thing that a Van Gough's hand did?"

Talents, senses, etc... those are all things that confuse those who don't readily adapt to it. But, like the drawing example, I at least am aware that I could go to an art school and at least learn how to draw a hand just like anybody else could take guitar lessons or get a pair of glasses. When we are talking about spiritual or paranormal matters, the skeptics are, predictably, the ones who aren't naturally predisposed to interact easily with the concepts.

In other words, everybody can have it, not everybody does have it, and those that do often pass it on to their kids. This applies to just about any trait and what you are talking about is no exclusion.

Haters gonna hate.

From my point of view you are not the same sensitivety all your life and you can increase it.

I can only really comment on below since that is the limit of what I have experienced:
Synchronicity.
Limited Telepathy.
Kundalini root flame, energy sensing in the body, intent->manifestation calming tool (Reiki).

Yes. Yes. Yes and yes. Great grandfather, grandfather, mother and myself. All sensitives. I believe these traits were passed down within the family.

And those naturally passed down, are far different than those someone who has the POTENTIAL to learn sensitivity..will ever be able to achieve thru practice and learning.

O.P.? U2U me sometime if you've got anything on your mind....MS

The ego is a dangerous thing to be fanning the flames of. It is a beast once unleashed that is hard to get back in the bottle so to speak. I wish I could tell you how not to be overly sensitive because you dont want to be cold either. good luck buddy its an interesting path you are on. just have fun with it.

I disagree wholeheartidly.

Investing in your ego gives you strength. I can honestly say to you that I am the strongest person I know when it comes to EGO. There is not a person alive that could intimidate me or rail road over me.

This has a lot to do with IQ but mostly it is to do with total Self Belief.

Being real and true to yourself in the moment and most of all being as direct as you can be.

Peace,

Korg.

I have walked that road to its conclusion a long time ago. Only the poor think they need wealth and only weak people think they need strength. People have their own demons and they all deal with them differently and im not here to judge just offer some friendly advice. You think your ego makes you strong and it does you think you need it to make you strong and you will always be slave to it. Everybody has their coping mechanisms if this works for you then thats great. Its just that investing so much time and energy into something that will be annihilated at death seems to me an inefficient use of energy and time, but thats just my opinion and no more valid or important than any other. Just sharing a point of view. Ego is like a drug and so I avoid it as much as possible but its not easy.

Anyway good luck with it all. Remember nobody else really cares its only you that matters.........right???

Do you,

Have problems with electronics?
Know what kind of a person they are before they speak?
Get headaches often?
Feel an inner strength from dealing from so much within?
Know when someone is sick and they don't even know?
Feel the presence of evil?
See movement where there isn't any?
Do you prefer rooms without corners?
Feel the world is alive, we all think so but you know it?
Get feelings you have to do something, and when you do, it had a reason?
Have a special place you feel most comfortable?
Feel like you're not from here?
See aura's?
Know things you shouldn't? Sounds crazy but you know what I mean.
Have different experiences with animals?
Have physical effects when the sun erupts with solar flares, do you feel different?
Know people that think you're weird because they don't understand or believe?

These are just a few traits of people that seem attracted to me have. Some
not many I have.

If you have some of these, you are more sensitive than others. If so, it is a gift you will
learn to enjoy and live with or force yourself to ignore.
