I believe the new 911 museum that's advertising all over the television is an hommage too death.

Two become one, the numerical significance, everything about 911 is symbolic in my opinion including the museum.

They are worshipping death and honoring it.

Culture is rife with idols,

You can't throw a stone in the modern world with out hitting some symbols.

Id put to you that Corporate Logo-ism is the new Idolatry.

The old gods and Idols become something else, some other form of symbol worship.

The goddess of Victory... Oh wait, becomes a Nike Swatch...

I don't know about you, buy I am surrounded by rams head, shells, globes, and other forms of Idols.

Hell, look at a dollar bill.

For some reason, Idols seems to be everywhere.

An idol is an image or other material object representing a deity to which religious worship is addressed or any person or thing regarded with admiration, adoration, or devotion.

But you worry about some obscure connection that might be Idolatry.

Why is it all around you?

Or is it simply all coincidence?

Thats a good question isn't it.

Why,

Why the need to associate with Symbols.

Do they have more effect beyond a simple physiological connection.

Or perhaps Consciousness has an effect on reality, perhaps that mass deaths that occur, that seem to be foreshadowed.

Maybe there is some occultist significance to having a large group of consciousness simply end at one moment, perhaps consciousness ending has an effect on the universe, and a Large amount of it, who knows.

Of course, that all depends on your world view, but really, even a materialist should be open to the postulation that consciousness could have a tangible effect on the material universe.

OR, perhaps all it would take would be someone crazy enough to think worshiping mass death would do something, really wouldn't matter the facts at that point.

Nah, I think it's something more obvious. Pandering to emotional people to continue to try to convince our citizens our iron fist abroad is legit & to "protect" us. See, the way I see this museum playing out is that it's going to further stir up emotional responses. Some, like me, are going to find it unnecessary and bordering on tasteless, while others are going to rabidly foam at the mouth and call you an unpatriotic cold POS for not honoring any of the dead. Wee, there you go, dividing further. Those of us fed up with emotional manipulation from the gov aren't going to buy into the mentality they're looking to further, while those gullible enough will, and will keep on insisting we need to blow up more brown people in MiddleEastistan to prevent a repeat.

It's always the same. Feed the devout, and let 'em have at the rest themselves. That way, the dirty work's done for TPTB & they continue to have their deaf, dumb & blind support.

And your tithe is $24.00 to worship at the altar of death. Commercialization of everything civilized is symbolized by the goddess of cash with the all seeing eye. Sacrifices at the altar of death are always paid with the blood of populations in mass.

Stopping to notice overt and covert symbols reinforces your position in society, and responsibilities both known and unknown. Stillness of mind brings forth the impressions made by these unnoticed symbols both in study and meditation.

Well said the object is to always divide reducing the size of your adversary while at the same time using the emotion you speak of to inflame the other, this perpetuates the killing machine of global conflict and industry. Bombs, bullets, or bread it's commerce at the expense of citizens blood.

Exactly what I think!

Fearful people won't mind TPTB exterminating muslims for their cause. Syria and Iran didn't work out too well for them, though.

I sympathize with your feeling that the world left you behind, your ship didn't come in it sank and you wound up being a screwed version of King Midas in which everything your touched turned to sheet.

On of the most common of social disorders is an attempt to blame those you perceived-incorrectly-has caused your lousy life. The deaths of so many, by an act of war, gives you the satisfaction that all those people will no longer be around to persecute you, and, of course, cause your misery.

Associating the feeling of loss for the families of this tragedy as a counter weight to balance your perception that any blame-is better than no blame at all.

I don't feel sorry for you-no one does.

You know exactly what I'm talking about. Read your own post. First 'MiddleEastistan' are not BROWN-that is a enormous insult not only to them but to Islam as well.

Insulting other races and religions you know absolutely nothing about along with dead Americans to advance your childish notions is disgusting. Why don't you take the time to look up the origins of these people before insulting them-the Kurds are the oldest civilization on the planet.

No, I do not know what you're talking about. Are you getting bent out of shape over sarcasm (MiddleEastistan, implying a generic fake name for a broad region we've repeatedly invaded/bombed) and "brown people"? I hate to break it to you, but the term "bombing brown people" has been in heavy sarcastic use since the Iraq Invasion. It denotes the xenophobic stance towards them (Middle Easterners, Arabs, Muslims) by morons who think in broad terms.

If unfamiliarity with sarcasm is your issue here, fine, it was explained. Otherwise, chill out & get back to me. Random scolding is not clarification.

'Ya know;
Benghazi happened on 9.11 also?

2012

To date, a few arrests have been made (none by the FBI).[citation needed] As of May 2014, no one has yet been prosecuted.

Fits the bill?

Forgive my perhaps newbie post.

I just returned from an extended visit to NY's new 9/11 Memorial while it was open to fellow First Responders and sought this forum to pose one question with accompanying photograph taken inside the Memorial:

I ask this:

The artifact display included various pieces of aircraft(s) but especially the seatbelt shown below:

"http://i62.tinypic.com/33tilc5.jpg" border="0" alt="Image and video hosting by TinyPic">

I ask, in 2001 were any airlines using this style buckle for the safety belts?

The image is also attached.
