The Swiss artist and designer of Ridley Scott's Alien, H. R. Giger, has died aged 74, a spokesperson at Giger's museum in Gruyere has confirmed.

Damn shame,Giger was a one of a kind visionary-to me it was almost as though he could see different dimensions.
My bro is gutted to hear about this as well.Hes a big fan and last year he went to the Giger museum/bar in Gruyere.
The bar contains the "harkonnen chairs" which he designed for "Dune."I don't think they eneded up in the film,but they are seriously cool I think:

It is off to the afterlife, where knowledge of our universe abounds. Have a great time seeing all that is and how alien being from various parts truly look. I have some ideas of the scary ones thanks to those created by this outstanding creator and artist.

RIP sir, your art was truly amazing and your visions were beautifully disturbed.

Thank you for the sleepless nights and the childhood fear that I'm just now starting to overcome.

Rest in peace. He was a visionary and technical master. There will never be another like him. I feel my eyes getting wet.
