No they actually don't

India buys ALL of its hardware aboard mainly from Russia hence you supporting Russia's aggressive actions in Ukraine...

There is next to NO employment for India's poor civilians within India's military program's

India holding 1/3 of the world poor should be prioritising and spending in other sectors, much of India is no more developed than Africa.

As an example the UK gave £250 Million a year for 3 years from 2009-12 - this was primarily used to fund charities and NGO's in poverty relief.

That was the reduced relief after India decided they don't need it anymore after having a space program and still holding 1/3 of the worlds poor

Before that it was over 1 billion per year and for many decades

Yet Russia sold them a few weapons in recent years and every India on ATS thinks Russia is a friend lol

Less of the personally attacks maddy please..

Do you have numbers facts figures as to how many employees India has from buying Russian military hardware?

Because as far as anyone else can see India is funding canned soviet programs and downgraded Russian tech

Numbers ? am i supposed to count them 1 by 1 ? they are in the millions ... Every Russian equipment we purchase we also purchase the license to build them ..

Which means

We are building 40+ ships
300+ Su-30Mki
200+ Tejas ( indiegenious designed fighter)
and not to mentions T-90s built in India India's own Arjun tank being built in India
French Rafaels will also be built in India after purchasing some form France
Every single thing we want is being planned to be built by our own industries...

As i said, many folks here who talk of poverty are ill educated . Idle Banter orgasming over someone else problems is all some people here are capable sitting comfortable inside their AC bedrooms.

Odd, because the Indian Navy website says it is in refit and won't be retired until 2017 at the earliest.....

The one retired is INS Vikrant , INS Viraat is still operational both are former British Navy Carriers

The INS Viraat is the former HMS Hermes - INS Vikrant was the former HMS Hercules of the Majestic Class, so Hermes (Viraat) is still sailing.

Till 2018 then it will be retired when the new Carrier joins the fleet

So your line of logic is that since US is crazy, let's all get crazy and act stupid, right?

No my point was Americans have no right to point fingers at India or advice them on spending when the US government cant seem to grasp the simple principles of debt themselves.

I already know that. But still doesn't answer to my comment. Having right of pointing fingers or not, doesn't change the fact that India has 1/3 of world's poorest.

How does the poor part relate to Indian army expansion?

Our money, our choice we do what we want ,when we want , how we want.. if you are having any butt hurt over it..then thats too bad

Besides considering how your country is a poodle of America who is habituated with simply bombing and destroying countries . It helps to have defenses

Oh, Maddy....

You "report me for trolling" and then launch into an actual troll post... Good work!

Anyhoo, it is your money and if you weren't in receipt of so much British tax payer money over the years whilst still having chronic poverty issues, I'd let you get on with it, but as you are and your own Finance Minister wants it to continue (now we're turning off the tap), I think I have at least some right to question how you spend your money, as you're happy enough spending mine

So, going round full circle to my original question (which I've since answered myself with the same info you are now giving me)...

Is Hermes still sailing...Yes...

Thanks, Maddy....

Whether Russia is a friend or not is up to the perspective and what you political leaders tell you.

It seems you sided with "Evil Russia/Good Ukraine".

Many people would differ and have varying opinion.

NO ....our finance minister said we do not want it quiet clearly , the people do not want it...Nobody in India wants your aid .. Then why do you think The Brits are so adamant to send aid . In fact British begged the finance minister for it . Because they are getting some benefit out of it . NO one gives money for free in this world ,especially the west. Please try to understand that . British govt. does not give a damn about poverty or poor in India. It is nothing but a way to destabilize India . The only reason the govt. allow the aid is because this helps them politically stay in power... This is a very big topic so please stick to aircraft carriers ..

As i said either you people are dishonest with yourself or you people are just intellectually incapable of figuring out whats going on ..

How does Indian army stand against Chinese military anyway?

im pretty sure Chinese is the potential threat to India. Pakistan is like a pesky neighbour i would assume.

Both Armies will not be able to win a battle on offensive roles but both will easily win on defensive roles . Considering the border with China is an heavily mountainous region . Its going to be difficult for either armies to really start an offensive as you need 6:1 ratio when attacking any target in hilly territory

www.bbc.com...

India has formed two new army divisions - comprising more than 36,000 men - to defend the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh.

A total of 1,260 officers and 35,011 soldiers have been assigned to the two new divisions, which are being especially equipped for mountain warfare.

Do we now know what that UK sub was originally tasked for and why it stopped looking for the Malysian plane so quickly?

A quick once over and sound profile. Does that make it important?
