The technique that I have found that works for me is as follows.

Watching the youtube vid, I hit share. I choose message, as in a text message. It dumps the entire link in there.

I copy all text, come back to the ATS tab, type the open link for vids:
< yvid > (without the spaces, of course) drop in the text on the page, edit out all but the needed part after the =, then type the close tag, < /yvid >, and you're done.

I could find no other option, and this works very well, is easy, no hassle.

ETA - make sure to leave no extra spaces, it will break the link. Also, you can go back to messages when you're done, and delete the draft.
