I could not imagine being in that situation, knowing that your family is in trouble and there is nothing you can do about it. I'm happy for you that they were unharmed.

Wow! My only crazy neighbor story is the one where the chick in college went running down the street pounding on every door screaming for help at the top of her lungs, only she didn't stay anywhere long enough for anyone to get to the door to try to help her before taking off to the next door.

So, in the end, we had an entire street load of people chasing the screaming hysterical girl making her even more wigged out while all the roommates were at home lighting up the switchboards with 911 calls.

We never did find out what was up with her, if anything, or if she was just drunk or on a bad trip.
