I found this web site, which I thought would be of interest to us oldies to look back and reminisce, for the younger folk to take a step back an see what fashions were like in a given period, what a house cost, or car, back in 1971 and so on.

There are factual events for any given day/month/year.

Take a look and hopefully enjoy.

Interestingly, I have similar (though contemporary) versions of a lot of the clothes in my birth year!

There were two major tsunamis then that I didn't know about until now and the first microprocessor, and plenty more interesting facts.

How things have evolved since then!

Funny thing, an old black and white TV cost $245.95 back in my birth year (1955) it is cheaper today for a flat screen TV.

This makes me feel old. I am nearly as old as TV.

The first Commercial TV Station with advertisements starts in London, England

I recall as a child TV's were often B&W and ours, though colour, were encased in a teak surround with a door to the metal slider controls. There were only 3 channels in the UK then and the third was pretty new.
