Cop shoots dog for barking, leaves it to suffer

So... Long story short, a guy discovered that his home had been burglarized with several items stolen, so he decided to call the police. A cop shows up in the driveway, and the guy's dog is apparently standing there barking at him like any normal dog would do.

"He shot Candy behind her ear, in the side of her head"

Shortly afterwards, the homeowner shows up and finds his dog writhing in pain on the ground, having been shot by the officer. He begs the officer to finish his dog off, which the officer refuses to do. The guy ended up having to fill a bucket with water and drown his own dog in it just to put it out of its misery. In the one video below you can hear the man start crying while explaining to other officers what happened.

The officer is now apparently on administrative leave pending an investigation. I hope he loses his job and is charged with animal cruelty... But we all know how that usually works out.

another story of a trigger happy cop...what a surprise !!...lucky the guys kid wasn't out the front with a hose as he would too have been shot too.....

my dog barks at people entering the property if someone shot him for that i would no doubt end up in jail for the reaction i would have to it

If a person kills or harms a Police K-9, they are charged with assault of an officer aren't they? Why is it people's dogs are treated like a slaves in the 19th century.

If you arent paying attention (the vast majority of the population) then this is all news to you. You still live in a little bubble where you've never been harassed or assaulted or threatened by one of these lunatics and neither have any of your neighbors or friends so you have absolutely no idea what is coming/has come.

Ignorance, disbelief and the ancient Rockwell holdover nonsense that says Officer Smiley is your friend are still stubbornly entrenched.

The problem with all this "until it happens to me" crap is that by the time it happens to every moron in the nation it will be long past time to change it and the new norm will be a mirror image. The vast majority will be acclimated to the rampant brutality and corruption and the last few to experience it will begin to express outrage while the majority just says "this is how it is and you should get with the program."

I read this story yesterday and was so peeveed I called and left amesssage of my dissaproval, for whatever that was worth. I probably got put on a list but I just can't sit back and accept a leo kills a dog every 98 minuts in our country.

Thanks for the info. I just did the same thing, called them and told them exactly what I posted here with full name and phone #. I implore everyone here on this thread to do the same. They need to hear our voices, and what we have to say, and know we aren't afraid to call them out. Are we just going to keep sitting by, and watch psychopaths run us over?

Just found this and thought you'd like an update on this situation.

Rains Co. deputy who shot dog terminated on Thursday

According to the Rains County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Jerrod Dooley was fired on Thursday. Sheriff David Traylor said that it was for Dooley's safety because of threats. He added that it is the safest move for the department and the deputy. Dooley will not be able to return to work at the Rain's County Sheriff's Office regardless of the outcome of the investigation, which is currently ongoing. The deputy was placed on administrative leave on Wednesday.

The Middleton family says the necropsy report by a veterinarian proves that Candy was shot in the back of the head.
