That's what I get for thinking I have seen this enough on Facebook and Reddit over the last couple days that I should know what I am talking about.

Injecting alcohol was certainly fashionable in the uk during the 70's in some groups. I first head of it in the mid 80's as a teenager, when I asked an older acquaintance about the odd look of the inside of their arm. it was explained to me that alcoholics used the injection route when they were short of money.

Injecting booze seems to do a huge amount of harm to the flesh and veins. Rather frightening to consider, but some don't seem to care about the damage they do, as long as they get their drug of choice.

They made a mistake approving it prematurely?
I don't think so - Im thinking the PR is priceless at this moment.
The release date was not that far away.
In a BBC Radio interview I listened to yesterday they were more curious if it could be sprinkled on breakfast eggs

Should be interesting to see how this pans out long term.
I'm surprised the idea and concept wasn't bought ($$$) out before even hitting the approval stage, the market and the media.

However, beverage-focused attorney Robert Behrman believes there may be more to the story. In an interview with the Associated Press, the lawyer noted that it's odd for regulators to mess up when greenlighting labels, which usually come at the end of a thorough screening process. He suspects that politicians want more details about the powder before it goes on sale, and that a convenient label mistake would give lawmakers the chance they want.
