By the chart, I am considered overweight. I am working at losing weight. My arthritis worsens as I gain weight. I don't want to be like those models though - skin and bones. No thanks.

Things are so skewed as to what is considered "normal" weight. I was skin and bones at one point in my life. People thought I had anorexia, but I was quite ill.

Now at the age of 49, (turning 50 in 13 days) I am overweight, though otherwise I'm in excellent health. Most people think I'm in my mid 30's. I just want to lose the excess weight in a healthy gradual way.

The media has an idea of what is an "ideal" weight. I don't agree with their interpretation at all.

Anyone miss the old days --70's/80's-- in the movies the ladies had tummy's, not so thin thighs, no tan and pretty much looked like the All American girl????

Now the women have zero fat and are almost sculpted like to perfection, including their tans

I remember her back in her earlier days being more meaty and tomboyish-athletic like

Now she's starting to get that sickly anorexic look.....too damn skinny IMO

I about lost my dinner looking at the skin hanging off that girls bones....If that girl turned sideways & stuck her tongue out she would look like a zipper !!

So I had to google the conversion of stones to pounds, but then I accidentally put the kilogram number in for stone and holy crap, it converted to around 900 pounds! Gulp.



Suffice it to say, I think most women (anyone really) looks best when they are not at the stick thin end of the spectrum OR at the 1000 pounds end of the spectrum.
