(CNN) – President Barack Obama called on his fellow Democrats to "forcefully defend and be proud" of the fact that millions of people have signed up for health care insurance through the federal marketplaces, and faulted Republicans who are still angling to repeal the Affordable Care Act.

"I don't think we should apologize for it. I don't think we should be defensive about it. I think there is a strong, good, right story to tell," Obama said Thursday during a rare appearance at the daily White House news conference.

Obama announced that the number of people who have signed up for private insurance through the marketplaces has grown to 8 million. About 35% of those people are under the age of 35, he added. That number is slightly less than the 40% that the White House and independent experts originally forecast for the system to work successfully, but it's higher than numbers released earlier this year.

Obama: Republicans.....

Here ya go, another 1 million have signed up for Obamacare with 35% being under the age of 35 years old. They needed 40% to be under 35 but this is still much better than Republicans and pundits said it would be.

Obama said that republicans claimed that no one would sign up for it, they were wrong, they said it would not be affordable, again they were wrong.

Obama also said:

"This thing is working," Obama said Thursday.

"If Republicans want to spend all their time talking about repealing a law that's working, that's their business," he added.

If it is so great, and it is working, then why did they delay the employer mandate for a year?

Could it be the upcoming election, and they don't want to lose votes???

To use Obama's own Crybaby Reid's now famous words...

It's not over yet!

Far from it. I have friends who were in favor of Obamacare, now seeing what they have to pay for their shiny new Obamacare...yelling their heads off, and whimpering...but...but...but...he said I could keep my Dr. He said I would pay less.

It's NOT over yet....

Bottom line - it's unsustainable. Even if all the political favor waivers that the Obama administration issued were cancelled ... it's still unsustainable.

The republicans have put all there eggs into one basket and things are not looking up for them. You think repel will win the next mid term election, but it hasn't been decided yet. We will see.

Sounds like an Obama sales pitch to me. Git yer snake oil, git it fast, only 3 bottles left and everyone's buying!

Cause everyone wants to pay MORE for healthcare, yeah. If Obama had not dismantled the health care industry and rebuilt it in his corrupt image with penalties, everyone would probably still be on their original health care package. All this is, is one bigass tax grab to feed big pharma and the medical industry.

You hear that sucking sound?

Geeee .... it didn't work so well for these widows in Alabama ...

Widows Health Care Dropped Due to Obamacare

"More than two dozen widows who were married to retired Madison county employees, lost their health insurance coverage earlier this year. And now one commissioner says it's time to give it back to them. The change was sparked by the new federal health care law, but whether or not coverage can actually be restored really isn't clear," said the anchor.

Says the reporter, "Madison county commissioner Roger Jones says no one realized just how much the new federal health care law would change things, especially for the spouses of some of his former employees."

"A lot of these people are on fixed incomes, low fixed incomes. Some of them are living on Social Security and very little else and health insurance is very important to them," says the county commissioner.

Of course people are signing up for this they don't have much of a choice.

Some people need to free themselves from the ropes and chains.

Vunderbar !!

Now there's only 40 million more left to sign up.

They better hurry because the more they sign up, the more they can force into bankruptcy from the deductibles !!

That's the *REAL* "Target".

And I thought the majority of "new" insurance activity was on the employee/employer rolls.

The exchanges had limited "access to" certain policies-doctors-hospitals-treatment centers especially with the rigged networking deals.

But people like my mom, who happens to be unemployed, are not getting the kind of treatment that Obama has promised. My mom was on the phone with the ACA 800 number, and not only did they put her on hold for 2 hours, but they hung up on her after those 2 hours. The bottom line is that the gov't only cares about those who they can get money out of (those who are employed). They don't really care about insuring anyone else. This administration, just like any other, are world class comedians.

I have a car dealership that sells bad cars at high prices.
My business is unsuccessful.
The the government takes away millions of peoples cars, tells them they must re-buy, and they can only buy from me.
I sell millions of cars.
Look what a successful business I have.

I can pretty much say with confidence that ACA will win the white house for the Republicans next elections and also for major changes in mid term elections.

Now as those under 35 that have signed for ACA, well my son is 27 and neither he and his friends qualify for ACA due to no meeting the standards for it, but when they sign in the government site told my son that he could try to sign in for Medicaid.

The irony, isn't the reason for the "Affordable health care bill" to be able to help the poor and needy that can not afford medical care? sorry to say this but so far the poor are still out of luck.

Now as for those that signed in let see how many will be able to meet their dues and keep the insurance business profiting and the government having enough taxable income generated to cover the subsides.

We are a welfare nation after all this days and growing.

Isn't treason a felony? Might want to tell that to 99% of the senate, congress, the DOJ and the POS, I mean POTUS.
