Oooh, I like the reply thing though.

Oh OK I just noticed too, the resolution and quality is much worse on the images now, is this a bandwidth or usage issue?

man, i thought there was something wrong with my computer, lol..then i went looking, and found this thread, and discovered that the board gods have been mucking about with the code again...

ATS 5.3 was awesome....these changes(with the exception of the reply feature), not so much..

I like that the reply functionality is now on the same page as the post you are replying to (at least on my PC, haven't tried on my smartphone yet) so I don't have to keep switching windows or keep quoting a post just to remember it all while replying.

I've been liking the site redesign since it first came out and I always seem to find something new as I go along.

One thing I wish for though, is that on the recent page (today.php) could the system show the start date of each thread somewhere near the thread starter's username? Other than that, great job so far!

You can "zoom" in with ctrl-+

There's a number of minor changes, some very useful like the new in-line reply function, others the result of a long review of our logs and site usage.

We (I) was perhaps too aggressive in planning for a wide page and screen size for the totality of our audience, and the larger than expected number of legacy browsers/systems still hitting ATS… which has actually been increasing over the past few months.

just out of curiosity, what prompted the change?

and if enough people say they don't like it, will you change it back?

and seriously, what's with the multi-colored psychedelic mess flanking every page?

ETA: that said, i'm gonna go play video games..the new look and format is giving me a headache...

I like the changes. It's nice to be able to reply to multiple people now without having to open a new window and cut and paste like I used to do.

Is there a way to get rid of the Alert/ATS Radio/Advert thing at the bottom?
With the tabs along the top following the page down and the one at the bottom, it feels really cramped.... the one at the top is useful but the bottom one is not needed or should at least be something to minimize or close.

It sounds like they are trying to get some feedback on this new layout so I'm sure it's not etched in stone
So far, it seems unanimous that everyone likes the reply buttons

I had problems with the 'preview' to this reply but other than that, nothing that I can't adapt to

I like it, but one major bug I see is that sometimes the text in the body of the posts is almost the same color as the background they're written on, so I have to highlight the text to be able to read it. Other times it's fine without doing anything. A real pain.

What ever happened to the last project that was promoted here? I was weeks in the background, it was something political ( alternative political something something ) I think the mascot was a sloth or something.
