This...this is the stuff which makes the international community perceive Americans as culturally unsound.

The following segment is a testament to just how bad the American mainstream media is.

I don't have much to say other than what the hell were they thinking? I usually respect CNN more than other American outlets, but this is just utter rubbish.

Yep thats PCMSM for ya. The type that generally tell you to be tollerant of everythinf yet flipflop on the subject by being intollrant themselves. it's a sad world though. And another thing they dont even do their fncking jobs at "reporting theeeee news" all they do is talk about that little fruitcake justin bleeder (his music makes my ears bleed), miley the virus, the inbreds of england (you know who i'm talking about those that say they are "royal"), and all of last month on a pointless story about a plane thats never going to be found, while at the same time talking about hitlery freaking CLINTON (I dont give a fnck about that rinkly ass old hag.) The media dont give sh!t about the news they care about ($$$$$)

Pipebomb dropped
End of rant

CNN's coverage in this clip does come off rather Xenophobic in my opinion.
The royals have been doing this kind of PR for a long arse time. It's not at all strange for Prince William.
Kate did look uncomfortable doing the nose greeting though. lol

No slight to the OP of course as they are just reporting on the lameness of CNN.

Let's not talk about the Bundy Ranch, or the New Mexico Ranch that the BLM is also dicking around with, let's not talk about the Ukraine or Benghazi or Syria or the Chinese taking over Africa (hell, everything), let's talk about some inbred mutants that call themselves royalty or some celebrities getting drunk and disorderly, that must be CNN's purpose in life on the glass tit. I wouldn't call it racist really, I think I would simply call it pointless and stupid and a few minutes wasted on tripe that I will never get back.

Cheers - Dave

This is not racism...Thongs aren't a race.
This is of course poking a bit of fun and/or accentuating a different culture. Low brow, but not racism.

If you were to show a man of culture walking in a burger joint and poking fun at the super duper sized stuff...its not a race of people your showing, its a culture of excess.

Just felt the need to clarify here.

The MM can't talk about real news anymore. The big Corporations tell them what to say.
It's mostly just this kind of filler crap. Makes me sick.
I love how they had to name drop the designer of Kate's dress! lol.

"We are superior to you"

So every other culture on Earth is Disgusting.

If they can't get it, stay away because soon enough they will not be welcome to step off the plane anywhere.

They believe they are superior but are actually small in the eyes of the majority. So enjoy it while you can.

For me the Royal family is garbage personified which needs to be taken out.

The Baby? JUST ANOTHER PIECE OF IT. Hopefully he will grow into something intelligent and dismiss the ties.

Peace

Says the corporate news station that is infamous for relaying propaganda stories rather than real ones. The question isnt America vs the rest of the world, the question is who outside the US is dumb enough to believe anything that channel happens to broadcast....

It may not be entirely racist, but the segment did indeed have some racist elements in it. Terms such as 'going native' were used, and the broadcaster was ridiculing the elements of their tradition - what makes them, them!

But yes, i do agree that overall it is a low brow poke at culture. Perhaps i used the wrong wording in the headline.

Thanks.

That is what propaganda is designed to do yo, make the inferior look and feel superior over the people they attempt to push into corners. Being the fact that its the most hated news station in America doesnt help it any.

I'm sorry, I lost track of...the...wowza, that's a mighty fine Maori butt there. He can greet me any time. Any time.

What were we talking about? Oh yeah, Jeanie Moos, whoopie doo. She's occasionally lowbrow, and always annoying. Neeeext (more Maori buns of steel, I hope?)

Yep, gotta get those corporate sponsors all the airtime they can handle! It's all newtainment or newtardment depending on one's threshold for mental pain lol. The only time I ever even watch the glass tit programming is when someone else turns on the box, I have no use for it as I am very selective about what I want to see. If I want real news, I'll get out my BS separator and go online (it's not like we don't have a gazillion shills on the internet that are paid to play, as well as the hoax generators and attention seekers).

Cheers - Dave

The only impression I get from that is that CNN must have thought it was a slow news day. I agree with a couple of other posters, definitely low-brow but not racist in anyway. It's not like CNN actually said that the royals are inbred and inferior and I don't think they were portrayed all that unkindly.

Actually, it could be considered racist as those are the customs of a different race of people than the cow doing the "reporting". Overall though, it'd probably be better described as bigotry, which is racism's close cousin. She wasn't just mocking the thong. She was mocking their traditional beliefs and dance as well. That, combined with her little nosedive into the camera, really made me want to punch her.

Much respect to the Maori. They are a pretty cool and interesting tribe. If anything, though, the entire segment showed the level of difference between acting like a lady (princess and queen) and acting like a judgmental cow. I'll give the Royals some credit here in understanding that, if they had even responded a tad in the way that the "reporter" did, it would've been a tremendous insult to the Maori.

I just can't get all worked up about it...the Maori and the royals, two groups I don't care about at all.

The reporter isn't exactly the classiest dame on the planet but the thread title promised an example of racism and I didn't see it, I also think describing that report as bigoted is a stretch but believe what you want to.
