Debris Avoidance Maneuver

Playing it conservatively, flight controllers conducted a Debris Avoidance Maneuver (PDAM) Thursday to raise the altitude of the International Space Station by a half-mile and provide an extra margin of clearance...

the junker was forecast to pass less than 2/10 of a mile of the station at 7:02 p.m. EDT had no action been taken.

I'd imagine this would be a common occurrence with all the launching of satellites and all. There has got to be a ton of crap floating around up there.
Interesting nonetheless.

Lol, I wasn't expecting that!
I am curious though, when it switched back to real footage at the end at the :08 mark, what was that other stuff at the stations 12:00 from our viewpoint? That was a bit strange looking.

Eta: I meant at the last 8 seconds of the video. Sorry about that.

Debris Avoidance Maneuver
That makes the user name "Hoaxter" seem apt. At least he's closer to "lizabeth.
