I've never authored a rant thread before but this stupidity is just boiling
my blood and I've got to get it off my chest...

What in the hell is going on in this country when we are so afraid of
our damned constitutional right to carry weapons that we won't even allow
our own soldiers to carry weapons while on their own damned base?!

These are guys that are HIGHLY TRAINED to use weapons--to kill effectively.

We send them overseas armed to the teeth, but when they come home we tell
them, "Sorry guys...We don't trust you with weapons. You can kill for the country
but you can't protect yourselves."

What the...?!

Here's how this headline should have read....

ARMED GUNMAN GOES ON SHORT-LIVED RAMPAGE AT ARMY BASE.
...and then the after story headline...

Coroner reports due to extensive damage from return gunfire an autopsy cannot be performed. Funeral will be closed casket

Honestly, that should be the norm with all these ridiculous public
shootings...."Gunman opened fire...gunman immediately died at scene."

Army base was a gun-free zone.

Cowards attack gun-free zones because they are cowards.

You rarely hear about a gunman attacking a police station. They want to shoot. They aren't so hot on return fire.

Apparently the man was a veteran who served in iraq.

Most veterans arent cowards imo but ptsd is pretty real.

My condolences to all families involved.

Well this goes to show that the government needs to watch itself more than the public when it comes to fire arms.
It seems to me that most of theses shootings are done my ex military individuals, law enforcement.

The theory of disarming American citizens to make an easier "take over" can only work if the aggressors aren't killing themselves.
(Yes I know this sentences seems, is in-itself, contradictory). And I don't want to be "taken over."

So, in conclusion: I believe that the Right to Arms needs to be Modified for the 21st Century. And the Government needs governing.

Regards,
