Texas -- Emergency responders are on scene of a reported active shooter situation at Fort Hood.

According to our sister station KWTX, shots rang out at the army base in Killeen, Texas around 4:25 Wednesday afternoon.

The station reports at least one person is dead, and others have been injured.

Fox just broke an update.

You would have thought they would have upped security there after the last one.

I sincerely hope that this active shooter incident does not go down as yet another mass shooting event in American history. My thoughts and condolences with all those affected by this including first responders, I hope those injured pull through.

Pretty pathetic home of the 1st Calvary can't carry their weapons on base. America has become a joke. Our military is as ridiculous as our government. Not our soldiers but all the top brass and Pentagon do nothings! Americans should demand that every Pentagon and DOD douchebag who puts on a uniform should have combat experience of some sort.

Hope they get this lunatic before he kills anymore.

All you need is a clean drivers license, not even necessarily yours to get onto most posts now a days. It's quite scary.

It was never like that before when I was on and off bases for four years. They used to open the hood of my car, check under the seats, look in the trunk and run mirrors under the vehicle before they even looked at my paperwork. And even then I had to have a reason to be there, at least till the guards got know me.

This Fort Hood shooting, wasn't that where the last shooting occurred?

This entire event is very very strange.
Here, Wednesday April 2 this is happening yet this ATS thread from Monday, March 31 contains the same details about this person, before the event took place.

Am I missing something here?

The oxymoron of a gun free military base is one of those mind numbing issues. It's an embarrassment that out soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines must rely on civilian "protection" on our military bases. It's outrageous...
