New social sharing widget on ATS -- look to the right

Maybe at the top, where you already have a tweety bird and the f for FB, just make one social media SHARE icon that expands down if someone clicks it?

An opition to get rid of the monster is better than cutting off its body and leaving the head.

Get it to feck out of the way, it's in the posting box as well, and doing me nut in.

I request the ability to turn of the Social media sharing bar.

It's "off" until you use it.

I'm looking at a couple options to hide the buttons.

I'm sorry, but it doesn't appear to be "off", because I'm looking at it. I haven't used it, ever, because I don't even have any social networking accounts at all. I have no reason to have used it.

But I still see it, and can't get rid of it.

Why cant you put all of them under an arrow like it is to access everything about a your own account? or use that space to place the button to access it. get rid of myATS and replace it with something that says Social Sites.

I didn't even notice it, lol. It's not obstructing anything on my Mac, so that is a plus.

I don't usually get on ATS from my phone but I could see it being a nuisance from that viewpoint.

Would be nice if there was a way to make is disappear, but if not I am o.k. with that. I'll just ignore it.

Even though I may not use the new "tools", many others will and if it makes it easier for people to share....it's a good thing. Doesn't bother me.

One idea: Is it possible you could have it appear as a tab on the right, and once clicked or scrolled over, it pops-up? Click the tab again and it collapses?

Just a thought?

They won't do anything to benefit a few members, you have to let other members this thread is going on if you want to get a majority of the members to protest what they do here. I know from experience, if you want to know what I do u2u me.

It is not something I will ever use. That said, it doesn't bother me either. In my browser (firefox) it is conveniently out of the way.

I usually use the desktop version of ATS on my iPhone, because you can view more than one page. The mobile version only allows access to the first page of each forum. This widget on the side is super distracting so I switched back to mobile version on my phone.

Unfortunately, this widget is slowing down the site on my PC. It's really jumpy when scrolling down.

If you go to the ATS Facebook page, you can see what ATS posts on their account and the "shares" each one has. I think these new tools would benefit more than just a few members.

FB, tweeting and wordpress are very popular these days and it's nice to see that ATS cares enough to keep current with internet trends. Hell, I never knew what Evernote was until today. Maybe I'm behind the times.

Even if I am behind the times, it seems that some people would rather keep their webpages stuck in the days of Windows 95.

FWIW, if you want my complaint SO....i have a touch of OCD with color schemes. Your multicolored toolbar is likely to cause me to have to start taking medications to control it.

Bahaha omg I died reading this. I just might have to join you in the medication dept.


AS for the social sharing widget. I knew that was coming one day......it doesn't really bother me. I share threads on FB often so being able to do so without copy/paste will be nice. Heck I'll probably share more lol

I noticed it right away and hate it!!!!! It is annoying as hell. Make it go away! Please!!!

That's all we're asking for.

If people are asking for it and you went to the effort to bring it to ATS, that's a good thing. All we ask is for the ability to make it go away if we're not going to use it.

I think its a good thing to have on ATS, I just don't want it in my face the whole time.

Show/hide wasn't so easy. But now it only shows on the first page of threads -- which is where it makes the most sense.

So if we want to post the thread to facebook, just click the facebook icon?

A black background (similar to the one under the toolbar) might be more pleasing to the eye - Appreciate that it is now showing on just the first page of the thread. Cheers

Nothing to complain about now (and I secretly love whining about non-issues)

I do wish to repeat my appreciation for eliminating the widget from mobile displays. Thank you very much!!
