Climate Change: The Polar Bear is Us

I just read a troubling article on NBC News about the latest findings concerning the issue of Climate Change that was announced at a science conference in Japan. The usual factors are named as culprits: The burning of coal, oil, and gas.

The key message from leaked drafts and interviews with the authors and other scientists: The big risks and overall effects of global warming are far more immediate and local than scientists once thought. It's not just about melting ice, threatened animals and plants. It's about the human problems of hunger, disease, drought, flooding, refugees and war, becoming worse.

The panel goes on to list the other factors of Climate CHange, changes I've never heard before in relation to Warming.

VIOLENCE: For the first time, the panel is emphasizing the nuanced link between conflict and warming temperatures. Participating scientists say warming won't cause wars, but it will add a destabilizing factor that will make existing threats worse.

FOOD: Global food prices will rise between 3 and 84 percent by 2050 because of warmer temperatures and changes in rain patterns. Hotspots of hunger may emerge in cities.

WATER: About one-third of the world's population will see groundwater supplies drop by more than 10 percent by 2080, when compared with 1980 levels. For every degree of warming, more of the world will have significantly less water available.

HEALTH: Major increases in health problems are likely, with more illnesses and injury from heat waves and fires and more food and water-borne diseases. But the report also notes that warming's effects on health is relatively small compared with other problems, like poverty.

WEALTH: Many of the poor will get poorer. Economic growth and poverty reduction will slow down. If temperatures rise high enough, the world's overall income may start to go down, by as much as 2 percent, but that's difficult to forecast.

These human factors make a big difference in the Climate Change picture which is getting more and more gloomy.

The fact is that oil and other fossil fuels are just too profitable for the people funding the governments.

I say its time that we the people make a stand.

In the 80's there were electric cars produced. The US government tried covering their existence up. Think of how much better the EV's would be today, had that not have happened. It's clear to me that the government isn't going to do anything about the deterioration of our planet unless we make them.

Didn't I hear something about a million man march on DC? Why isn't this happening? I would be there.

My worry is that the PTB will wait until the last second before they try to do anything. However, I think it will be too late by then. They're making too much money.

I would say comparing a human to a polar bear is like comparing a piece of wood to a stratavarius violin. the global warming myth is just like the terrorism myth or the gmo myth or the keep your doctor myth. the idea that humans are the biggest problem on this planet is the ultimate myth. lets try some facts shall we. We live on a dead planet. FACT. polar bears can't build space craft. FACT. Science guys don't get paid for being science guys, they get paid for PRODUCING. FACT. The only hope polar bears have is if Angry Monkey pulls head out of orifice and starts the migration to space. FACT. Man isn't the total cause but part of it. We can only control the factors that we can do something about. We can't ignore this anymore because it's not going away no matter how much anyone discredits actual scientists.

Government and corporate scientists that are paid to push an agenda. "Climate Change" has nothing at all to do with humans or human activity. GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS: "Global Warming" and "Climate Change" are government sponsered DOOM PORN.

Amazing that "government science" gets credit for saving us from ourselves with regards to "Climate Change"... the same "government science" built the Hanford Facility in WA (that has worked GREAT, let me tell ya)... the same "government science" also publicly boasted that the "Waste Isolation Pilot Plant" in NM would never leak...

Beyond that, if this planet gets any "warmer", we may all freeze to death...

It all sounds very scary, but not scary enough.

So now we do what humans do best....We wait untill it's to late without doing anything cause we don't believe it, we need the absolut proff which will propably be all of the above but still not covincing enough, and when people start dying we will ask the allmighty question.

"How could this happen? why diden't we do anything? what government should we blame? it's definately not my fault, it's clearly my neighbor".

Cause as usual we learn from misstakes and in most cases we wait untill the misstake has happened, cause if you try to warn or predict, people will just look at you like you are bat# crazy.

Why plan for posterity by living on something the Universe consumes like popcorn? The only way to ensure that your going to advance your "species" forward is to put it in a place that you know will has a slight chance of survival. planets don't move. they get whacked when they're star goes nova. the end. they get blasted out into the Universe and wander aimlessly until they're fate is decided by the ultimate judge, gravity. and gravity always wins. spread your civilization out amongst the stars and at least it has chance at staying alive. Look out at the known Universe right now, and tell me, how many planets are out there right now that have a civilization worth saving? I can think of, let's see, maybe ONE, and "Worth Saving" takes some thinking about. and polar bears? they're smart enough to know one thing obviously. they're time has come. that's why they are moving back on land and being assimilated into the grizzly population. now, if they only had thumbs and could work a calculator, they'd been all set.!

not a scientist, couldn't afford the tuition. but i DO know someone first hand who IS a climate scientist, a few years back, i tried to bait him like we did when we were kids about global warming. since as everybody knows they are ALL in agreement that it is real. well was i in for a shock, he started in on me for believing in that BS. left me speechless for a few awhile, as he went on and on about how few climate scientists actually supported it and with all the reasoning.

what i do find rather amusing is that this "gathering" is being held in the country that is and has been putting out the most and worst toxic pollutants around.

if the natural occurring global climate change has these effects we will just have to do what we as humans do best, adapt to the changes.

also have to love them pointing to hurricane Sandy as a poster child of new extreme weather. like strong hurricanes were completely unknown before. but hey lets not forget about hurricane Hazel in 1954.

According to the report, risks from warming-related extreme weather, now at a moderate level, are likely to get worse with just a bit more warming. While it doesn't say climate change caused the events, the report cites droughts in northern Mexico and the south-central United States, and hurricanes such as 2012's Sandy, as illustrations of how vulnerable people are to weather extremes. It does say the deadly European heat wave in 2003 was made more likely because of global warming.

I don't know what a "Necromonger" is. I know what a skien du is. I am sorry I'm boring. I don't care if polar bears die. I don't care if grizzly bears die. dont' care if the human race dies. I did think about stepping in front of a bus when the Hostess Twinky went away, but they're back! (just not as good as before!)! Polar bears don't build oil wells that pollute the ocean. FACT. Polar bears don't build nuclear reactors that melt down and pollute both the ocean and atmosphere. FACT. The "theory" of global warming might be hard to "fix" because, well, there is no PROOF it exists in the first place. polar bears would still dissappear, even if there weren't any angry monkeys around to build really cool things like oil wells and atomic reactors. polar bears are adopted to live in a specific climate and a specific eco-system. they could be wiped out by something as common as geodedic precession or kim kardashian! The Earth is ALREADY dead. That's not a theory. we pretty much know what happens to stars and whats going to happen to our own. the Universe is pretty big, the Mysterious Hand of the Divine made it that way for a reason. angry monkey needs room to spread out. no theory there. angry monkey also knows a bout somethng called "cloning". polar bear should be nice to angey monkey. polar bear can't hold test tube. polar bear can't run centerfuge. polar bear can't do genetic engineering. polar bear CAN be genetically engineered. yeah, pollution is bad. want clean energy? build lots more reactors, nuclear power. totally safe when you don't have reactors that are designed by GE or run by union hacks. angry monkey leearns from its mistakes. angry monkey knows Earth is already dead. angry monkey knows we have to leave. if an angry monkey can understand that, why can't the knuckelheads at ducks unlimited?

Global warming is part of nature and have been proven because it has happened many times. What is questionable is mankind effect on global warming and if it is causing it to speed up. Maybe it would help if you actually understood what you were talking about.
