I thought 12 Monkeys was pretty spot on.

Thought you might have spotted that

But seriously though,

I would jump at Blade Runner or Gattaca, too, but both are based on the idea that somehow we have gotten off-plant. That's never going to happen.

The only movie that really reflects how completely screwed we are with no redemption in space is District 9. In District 9 humanity is so hopelessly screwed that even when the aliens come for our help, the best we can do is throw them in a prison camp. Thus completing the circle-of-fu#ed and more accurately reflecting humanity's near future, and as far as I can tell, his foreseeable future.

So, District 9.

I was jokingly thinking the same thing, but in all seriousness, I'm leaning toward Atlas Shrugged.

Here ya go boymonkey.

I don't think this is what our future holds. Just betting you haven't seen this one.

Good movie. Old ~ but a good movie. At least I thought so when I was a kid

History is repeating itself and the possibility of a different outcome is my biggest worry/bottom line on where we are headed.

I like Minority Report. I like how they feature transparent tablets, or was it newspapers?

It's been mentioned twice already, but my vote goes to Idiocracy. There is nothing about the movie that seems implausible... Well, maybe there won't be 7 million listings for Upgrayeedd... But other than that, it's spot on...

Yeah watching Dredd made me cringe at living in a place like that.

It could go either way, i believe we adapt to our surroundings and we influence each other.
So lets hope for a tranquil environment for all

Evening,

I was going to say it'll look very similar to Orwell's 1984 with a smattering of Minority Report, Soylent Green and a little Logan's Run thrown in for seasoning, but we're basically there already...

I know the OP was asking for movies, but i found Revolutions on Netflix. Does that count?

Loooong trailer. The first 1:27 are worth the watch though.
