I would jump at Blade Runner or Gattaca, too, but both are based on the idea that somehow we have gotten off-plant. That's never going
to happen.
The only movie that really reflects how completely screwed we are with no redemption in space is District 9. In District 9 humanity is so
hopelessly screwed that even when the aliens come for our help, the best we can do is throw them in a prison camp. Thus completing the
circle-of-fu#ed and more accurately reflecting humanity's near future, and as far as I can tell, his foreseeable future.
It's been mentioned twice already, but my vote goes to Idiocracy. There is nothing about the movie that seems implausible... Well, maybe there won't
be 7 million listings for Upgrayeedd... But other than that, it's spot on...

I was going to say it'll look very similar to Orwell's 1984 with a smattering of Minority Report, Soylent Green and a little
Logan's Run thrown in for seasoning, but we're basically there already...
