EMP?

Some pretty extreme weather on the East Coast today/tonight including T Storms and strong winds.
That is a much more likely explanation then an EMP.

Wow. I've never seen the emergency lights on the capitol like that.

Frank Underwood must have turned on his PS3 with an unsecured line at work. Hacker must have gotten in...

Here is a pic form the Lincoln Memorial, the lights you see on are either on generator , UPS or backup power.

Ya but EMP is more dramatic than wind....and we know how much drama is needed to keep the globe turning...so emp is much more fun.

Good find op and nice photo too...

Don't think they would waste an EMP in washington....not going to do much but shut Washington down therebye having the people of America rejoice...

Honestly I don't care if Washington remains closed..my concern would be hospitals, people on medical machines and emergency response....

Congress is on a break right? Where's the President?

(I might be wrong about Congress...I don't keep track of them.)

I'm about 1:15 West from DC & we have 25 to 35mph winds with
gusts 45 to 55. My power has threatened to go off a few times.
It's very windy at the moment & we have the same warning
until 11:00 tomorrow.
It was ~ 68 to 70F today & tomorrow the high is 33. I'm ready
for Spring! Winter keeps dragging on & on...we're due to get snow on
Monday.

Cheers

Nothing on the police scanner.

Airport and fire/EMS scanner says feed is down and this could be due to a power outage (they have that first) or network connection problem.

I'm and hour 20 NE of DC. There's a wind advisory. Showing steady wind of 18MPH with gusts up to 45MPH. When hubby opened the door it sounded like a freight train was going by. Lights have been flickering over the last few hours, but no outages. What stunned me was the predicted 40°F temp drop predicted between 4pm and 7am tomorrow.
