I am a proponent of the old CIA. Spy's and the like. I have always though that one of Clintons major mistakes was the reduction in CIA intelligence. (other than that, I loved Clinton!) Well, for those of you that agree with me, it appears that conformation has been given that the CIA is returning to its old ways. I found a small article discussing this conformation, and I thought I would pass it along. The new plan is risky for the operatives involved, but the intelligence payoff will be priceless.

The new strategy is dangerous agents could gather much better information but would run a much higher risk of being killed if found out. Goss hinted at this strategy during his confirmation hearing and has told agency officials it is key to his effort to revamp the agency to meet new and unconventional threats.

Here is a link to the whole article.

The tactics may be dirty, but only the real down and dirty tactics are
the ones that are successful.
It's the "grunts" that do the hands-on field work that are truly
able to obtain the information that is necessary in the times that we
are now living in.

As you stated the payoff is priceless....
