I think most are discussing possibilities - while keeping an open mind - concerning the varying news reports...

Should people not discuss the news reports coming in?

His reference was to a fireball meteor, not a test missile. the going theory there is that there was a fireball meteor over japan 2 days ago. I was referring to that. How the heck did you get NK from my reply?

North Korea was from my brain. I was just asking you about a meteor near Japan. I was unaware of that.

My point, is this group China ID'd, never claimed responsibility. So if true, why would they now?

So, if news organizations start rumors of this being a terror attack... we should not discuss why it is either probable or not probable?

Or if pictures come to surface saying it might be debris from the plane should we not examine and discuss those probabilities?

I thought these sites were about discussing this sort of thing.

Basically I think you are insinuating we shouldn't discuss at all any news report...

Wonder how they will confirm if it turned back..this newspaper stating that

The website also reported aviation sources in China as saying that radar data suggested a steep and sudden descent of the flight, during which time the aircraft had changed track from 24 degrees to 333 degrees.

www.thestar.com.my...

Anyone know what that would look like on a map 24-333?

i am not insinuating. Im suggesting pulling something out of the air isn't evidence and shouldn't be touted as truth.

speculate away. speculate to your hearts content, but have something to back it up at least.

ok... interesting.

Be better though if some of this could be recorded off the record, something more than what one persons says second hand...

It is interesting... and that is one possibility...

I have simply always thought more than one mind was better, and together using more than one mind we might hash out some more plausible theories.

have a great thread... I will take my thoughts out of it since discussion is unwarranted in this thread I take it... or at least any part that includes myself is unwarranted.

Wouldn't they flight crew radio they were turning back? Is this something they would do on their own?

Only to be used as a point of reference to demonstrate how it make days/weeks/months, etc. before we get any REAL information concerning this tragedy/mystery...I only selected this former accident because of a few similarities: going missing, body of water involved, general common region, etc...

Comparison source: en.wikipedia.org...

Please pay special attention to Search & rescue, & discover of wreckage..

Lost communications happen all the time. International flights aren't tracked by radar, they report in by waypoint as they go. It's up to the plane to report their position.

This plane was using either ADS-B or ADS-C. ADS-C is older and was only in use in a couple of regions that were not covered by normal radar in Malaysia. The tower can set time increments to request systems information automatically and will automatically transmit important systems and altitude changes out of normal, immediately. ADS-C had plans to be implemented everywhere in Malaysia between 2014 and 2016. However, since the flight showed up on Flightradar24, which receives information from ADS-B. This is GPS Sattelite based and sends information constantly in regard to systems and location based on GPS satellite. There is no reason why they don't know where this plane is and where it was when it lost contact.

Sounds like you are saying they know where this plane crashed and they are using it for a distraction....

Step one is fly the airplane. Step 2-8 is fly the plane. Steps 9 & 10 are diagnose and fix the problem. Somewhere down the list is tell people what's happening.

Governments will want to understand the situation before the real story is told. It's the game. If it was a military accident or aggression it get even deeper.

Still no word on ELT beacon?

Edit:

Meaning if it might be working, can it be monitored, etc.

I was simply shocked at the lack of depth in this thread regarding the terrorism allegations. It was all 100% Islam based from start to end

That's just simply not true. There were a number of posters talking about Chinese terrorists.

See how easy it is to be ill-informed?

If I remember correctly, those talking about Chinese terrorists were speculating about a Chinese Islamic terrorist group (much like the 'Has Jihad reached China' type articles sprouting everywhere since the knife attacks) rather than Chinese politically-motivated terrorists. Huge difference of course.

If not - I stand corrected - I must have missed those posts. Not intentionally, mind you. I would've been more than glad to read them.

Peace.
