and whale sounds or iceflow noises dont carry for this distance? I thought they carried for a long way in the oceans.
No WAY a low power signal can travel 200km...
Even an extremely high power sonar signal (200dB+) has a hard time going long distances except under very rare convergence zone conditions.
Former Navy sonar tech BTW...
I would expect a jet targeted at 35-39,000 feet would explode due to the fuel carried or maybe there is not enough oxygen up there for the fuel to burn and explode like that? Is there? If it did explode at that height, what kind of area would the debris scatter on the ocean? Bearing in mind some of the pieces would naturally be flat and go like a sail in the wind as they are dropping.
When a plane is hit by a missile they tend to remain intact, unless it hits something like a loaded weapons bay, or is a Golden BB shot.
But to cover an area that big they would have had to be a lot higher.

omg 354 pages and many are still engrossed in this mock search hype.
So let me guess, you're hiding it in your garage shed?
Ships searching the southern Indian Ocean for the missing Malaysia Airlines plane have now detected four separate underwater signals.
More ships and planes from at least eight different nations have been diverted to the area to investigate whether they could have come from the plane's "black box" locator.
CNN is reporting the British Defence Ministry has confirmed the fourth signal.

Don't be silly! It's in his secret underground base!
Nochzwei, why do you call it a mock search?

So either there is other equipment pinging there, or the plane had a couple spare recorders just in case.

And now we have 4
Four signals detected
