And I'm well aware that there isn't enough info. What comes out in the early moments is often very telling, as anyone who has spent any amount of time here full well realizes.

So what has come out so far and this is not meant in a snide way but rather trying to summarize as I am playing catch up on the thread:

1. Plane is missing
2. Reports of 2 , possibly more stolen passports
3. Oil slicks

and you guys talked about it for 26 pages, amazing.

To what end?

Events in Crimea are still going to happen and they will still be reported on.

Exactly who will be distracted? Those that don't care about what's happening in Crimea? Big deal, they didn't care anyway!

Every person I've ever come across is capable of taking in multiple major stories at the same time.

Why do conspiracy theorists think otherwise? Are you being distracted by it?

Personally? Yes, I've been really distracted with the Russia/Ukraine/USA situation since this plane went missing. I know the US has some ships on their way to the Crimea region, I know things have intensified a little over there, but MSM has been stuck on the missing plane story with a possible World War looming out there, and I find that odd too. If I knew what all these connections meant I'd likely not be posting on ATS right now. I just always have that "connection" mentality in the back of my mind. When events start happening, I begin to wonder if they are connected at all or whether they are totally separate... With this story, I just find it all too fishy and when I feel a story is fishy I begin to look for crazy, possibly random, connections that may (or may not) exist...

Sorry, I can't control how my mind works, sometimes I feel it has a mind of its own

Did this plane have ACARS?

The Air France plane sent ACARS data back to Air France which allowed them to determine the pitot tubes were involved. It took four days for the information to be released to the public but they must've known almost immediately that something was wrong.

If such data exists with this plane, is it possible Malaysian Air is withholding the information until it is analyzed?

The majority of visible meteors are caused by particles ranging in size from about that of a small pebble down to a grain of sand, and generally weigh less than 1-2 grams. Those of asteroid origin can be composed of dense stony or metallic material (the minority) while those of cometary origin (the majority) have low densities and are composed of a “fluffy” conglomerate of material, frequently called a “dustball.” The brilliant flash of light from a meteor is not caused so much by the meteoroid’s mass, but by its high level of kinetic energy as it collides with the atmosphere.

Meteors enter the atmosphere at speeds ranging from 11 km/sec (25,000 mph), to 72 km/sec (160,000 mph!). When the meteoroid collides with air molecules, its high level of kinetic energy rapidly ionizes and excites a long, thin column of atmospheric atoms along the meteoroid’s path, creating a flash of light visible from the ground below. This column, or meteor trail, is usually less than 1 meter in diameter, but will be tens of kilometers long.

The wide range in meteoroid speeds is caused partly by the fact that the Earth itself is traveling at about 30 km/sec (67,000 mph) as it revolves around the sun. On the evening side, or trailing edge of the Earth, meteoroids must catch up to the earth’s atmosphere to cause a meteor, and tend to be slow. On the morning side, or leading edge of the earth, meteoroids can collide head-on with the atmosphere and tend to be fast.

So I left and now back...
Sheesh what has transpired...
No plane yet...but.
From what I'm gathering is...........??
As I read what has been posted.

We have a bunch of tech people on board whom are involved in semi conductors and other tech aficionados.
China is the largest maker of chips.

Soooo? This was this a corporate hit? Who would benefit? Thailand?
Who else could benefit. Asian Mafia running sweat shops and now want a cut...you know once bangcock gets a hold of you. She never lets go.
Imagine Thailand being able to make chips in a sweat shop Mafia environment....

OR!
We could wait for the "MISSING PLANE TO BE FOUND!"
Not confirmed crash yet...just a plane that happens to lose its transponder at 35k ft. Where it leveled off where mostly nothing of importance other than the comfort zone. And right at Malaysian territorial maritime line.
Why would one just blow up a plane right there..if the plane was blown up...
But guess what..
THERE IS NO PLANE YET! IT'S MISSING!
Yes we found oil patches..we will wait till crews arrive and verify...right?
Till then we need a plane first.

China most likely NOT having anything to do with it will use this as propaganda. Allowing them to go ahead and claim these waters as theirs to control..........Maybe?

AND LAST QUESTION. IF THIS WAS A TERRORIST ATTACK. HOW COME NO ONE IS CLAIMING THIS YET? ALL THESE YEARS OF ATTACKING AND CLAIMING. THEY GET SMART AND NOT CLAIM IT? OR DID THE TWO PILOTS JUST TOOK IT ON THEIR OWN AND TURN OFF THE TRANSPONDERS, AND DIVE IT STRAIGHT INTO THE OCEAN? LIKE THE EGYPTIAN AIRLINES?

BUT HARK HARK! HARK INDEED!
WE NEED TO FIND THAT MISSING PLANE FIRST.

OK I'LL STOP SHOUTING now.
Sorry for the rant. I left for 7 hours, to return to this...a lot has happened. That's a lot to read through and catch up.

The latest: There may have been NO ONE onboard with a stolen passport.

www.straitstimes.com...
Latest reports state that another two passengers with European passports did not board the flight despite their names appearing on the list.
Mr Hishammuddin refused to give their names or nationalities but said all four were being investigated.
"Not just the four, the whole manifest is being investigated now. It's not concluded that people with stolen passports were on board, it's still being investigated," he said.

How does a passenger name get on the manifest? I assume it's when they check in---with their luggage. Did the plane take off with missing passengers but with their luggage still on the plane? That would be a big no-no on the part of the airline. The airline pogues are probably sweating buckets back in Kuala Lumpur.

Wouldn't that just mean it would have crashed in a spot farther south. Are they adding an additional search area?

So, according to the press conference at www.youtube.com..., they have no ACARS data. One of the reporters asked the Malaysian Tranportation liaison if it is even possible to prevent the data from being automatically transmitted and the reply was that we are checking with Boeing.

Confirmed that it was only two, not four people using the stolen passports as suspected earlier, info by the Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein. The CCTV review shows the two in question and it's still under review.

The plane was deemed safe to fly. Also, being said that it turned around?
