Isn't it wonderful to marvel at the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Whoops, wait a minute, that rich and famous person is our first lady! You know the other half of our president that wants to see the money of the rich be redistributed to the poor?

I know this was exposed July 2009, but at the time it was unverified and only included 20 positions. Now it has been verified by the White House, and is actually 26 positions. I can think of a lot of ways to redistribute the nearly $1,750,000 PLUS lavish benefits that goes towards Michelle's hairdresser and make up artist etc.. Or perhaps we should just let her subjects eat cake?

Now to be fair, we should include our previous presidents tally for his wife, Laura Bush. She had 15 attendants at a cost of$1,083,700 dollars. Now considering that wages have been going up like 1% per year that would amount to... An extra $54,185.

What it comes down to is that this president is getting really comfortable spending our money. On this and just about everything else including spectacular vacations. Bow down to your queen you humble serfs.

Every conspiracy always has a ring of truth to it. If you would have so kindly have read my post you would see that this once fabled, "story" is now VERIFIED as truth. Watergate didn't come out in a day either you know.

I am surprised the minimum wage Obama cyber trolls aren't upset by this. I guess such a wonderful paying and fullfilling job is hard to come by... Pity...

Oh I get it! The lavish parties, huge staff and extravagant vacations are just to provide jobs for Americans! Thanx for enlightening me! Maybe they should have a private zoo and floating restaurant like Ukrainian President and presumed dictator Viktor Yanukovych? Hey, why not that would be more jobs!

GoodbyeBruce, that was the biggest fail I have seen to date. This is a presidency, not a fairytale kingdom. Then again, all Snow white got was 7 politically incorrect dwarfs and a few helpers that worked for bird seed. Oh wait, they were birds....

According to my article, Hillary Clinton had exactly 1/2 of the staff of Michelle and didn't seem to suffer any. Then again, Michelle is a much harder sell to the public.

This really is a present story and issue. It's just that 5 years ago it erroneously was thrown in the liberal snopes bin. Now it has been verified as fact.

But yeah, you are right, it is too much. This sort of reminds me of Tammy Faye baker and her excess makeup. This administration needs a whole lotta "coverup".
And all those layers of help don't come cheap.

Well I can see where your going with this total waste of tax payers money.

There are 24 hours in a day, she hopefully sleeps eight of them, that leaves 16 hours left in the day, I assume she baths without assistance, so let's knock off another hour...15 hours left in the day, (that's a long day) 900 minutes divided by the 26 employees equals 34.61 minutes on average per day per person. I'm not sure if they all have tea breaks and lunch, surely not, afternoon tea...

My point is, if I was in the employ on the first ladies staff, what ever the role, if I didn't get my 34.61 minutes organising whatever, that would mean, I am in fact doing nothing.

Theres only so many hours in a day.

They must all be male employees because obviously not one of them can multi task. BS waste of money...

What do the make up artist and hairstylist do for the whole day. After you get her hair and makeup done WTF do they do, just sit around waiting for a hair to be blown out of place? 26 people and that does not include the cooks, serving people, cleaning staff and security!

What? Does the Chief of Staff run around making sure everyone is looking busy. I would like to know what they all do in reality.

What is left for the First Lady to do?

Why not post it again ? Now its 4 years old so that's almost 8 million dollars more that has been wasted on a woman that thinks that most of us are bewildered knuckle heads ....and we must be to let this keep going on .

I think people would be surprised at how much manpower is actually needed to run an office like the First Lady. Despite it not being a 'job' in the traditional sense, the partner of any major world leader has a fairly big role to fulfil - from charity to diplomacy. This requires a staff, just like anything else. I think in this case, it's the sheer amount of liaison, checking and double checking that needs to be done over every little detail that creates so much work.

As for things like hairdressers and makeup artists - I really don't think this is an unnecessary expense. It's hugely unlikely that either of these people are employed exclusively for the use of the First Lady, and given the security requirements, having a hairdresser and makeup artist on staff is probably simply more cost effective than having to security clear people and locations time and time again. It's not like Barry or Michelle can just pop to the local hair salon for a trim, after all.

I'm not really one to defend politicians, but it's absurd to suggest that an office as large and important as the First Lady would not require a fairly significant staff.
