For those keeping an eye on this current conflict I thought this graphic would help to show the difference between the Ukrainian military's size and power versus Russia's.

Although a lot of the Ukraine's hardware is soviet era, they still have strong numbers.

Just remember to take into account only a portion of Russia's forces are available for operations in Ukraine. Russia is a large country and they have potential threats on every border NATO/EU in the West. Turkey, Georgia and other former unhappy Soviet states to the south and China and the Pacific states of course in the east. And of course the US who can come from any direction. Also potential armed uprising in several of its republics that need to be kept in check. While Ukraines forced of course are all in Ukraine with one threat to deal with. Also the state of both their militaries is not what is should be do to corruption and failed reforms.

Probably also add in that some of the Ukrainian force will defect to assist Russia...

Nothing will happen in the Ukraine. It's not good business.
If the Ukrainians mysteriously acquire hi tech weapons in the next few days, then it's time to worry.
