Well said and all true and the fact you can still say these things about the administration in office with out being tossed in a hole and forgotten means we the people still have power.

If we don't start exercising it with recalls, impeachments, and peaceful demonstration's by the millions, not the thousands we will loose it.......its that simple.

Yes, it does. The American people do nothing to stop what the government is doing to both its own citizens and the rest of the world. Tip: voting is not "doing something" in an environment where the game is rigged.

Unfortunately there are plenty of Americans who actually subscribe to and admire what this current administration is doing and will continue to do.

I do like the premise of your post as I often feel the same but the. Reality hits and my liberal coworkers still continue to croon over this president..

Not so sure that "our" government is ours anymore. Its been sold to the highest bidder. A shell is all that remains. They never had anyone's best interest at heart.

I would say the US Gov pretty accurately represents the US people. They both live by the same time-honored philosophy: that being "Gimme, gimme, gimme". The reason it seems like they don't is because, of course, the gov "gimmes" to ITSELF and not the populace. Who can blame them? The gov does it the only way it can be done. They TAKE what they want at gunpoint (or threat of prison rape) from the world and from its own citizens. If you just sit around waiting and bitching that nobody is giving you anything, you can expect to continue getting nothing.

USA has assassinated democratically elected leaders, subverted governments, tortured and massacred people. All in the name of oil, corporate interest and domestic economic goods.

It's all been documented and exposed for decades now.

And what do the Americans do on the average?

Consume more. Buy more hot pockets. Built more rendition prisons. Ship more soldiers to foreign countries. Massacre more funeral convoys with drone attacks.

I don't see this changing anytime soon, unless people in USA stop consuming TV and start thinking for themselves.

It's nice to see more and more individuals wake up. It gives hope.

But it is a far cry from actually changing how things are run.

I know it's easy to feel helpless, but you are citizens of the greatest and most powerful country on earth.

With great power comes great responsibility.

Perhaps it was time Americans actually faced up to that.

Why do you think more people are waking up?

I am curious because i dont see any evidence for that claim. Do you have any statistics that show this?

What you do not understand, is that America and her government have punished the populace of many a nation for simply voting one way and not the other.

How can a citizen of a country that destroys lives and families because of the leadership they choose, a country that while doing this; states that it is the citizens of that countries fault they voted the way they did, claim amnesty?

I disagree sir. The citizens of the U.S are DIRECTLY responsible for the actions of their government.

The citizens of the U.S must reap what their gvnmt sows. The rest of the world has, on many occaisons payed for what their leaders have done. Why should you be excluded?

It's the truth imho, make a change if you don't like it.

We, the rotten people of the US get the exact government we deserve. We are played like fiddles by the rich and powerful.
We are taught to vote through fear. Fear of ghosts and made up realities. We fear the communists, the socialists, the terrorists, the gays, the minorities that are taking our jobs and destroying the country. We fear government, unions, abortion, losing our faith, losing the family, losing ourselves.

We have been turned into a country of badass cowards by the huge money, huge corporations and their toady politicians.

The core of our country is rotting because of voters being herded like sheep herded by wolves, all the time thinking their voting to save the American way.

So, I get tired of hearing that America is made of "good" people. Because as a whole if we are so easily lead astray, so easily convinced of evils that don't exist, so easy to judge others more harshly than ourselves, maybe we're not as "good" as we think.

When Rush Limbaugh and Fox News are the major influences in our media, we are in serious #.

And don't get me started on the apathy of the American voter.

These fifty Nations unionized as one Empire must break our current system and seek new contracts, and partnerships elsewhere; freely. Centralized Banking has ruined what once was a great ambition in Self-Determination, and self governance, this land has deteriated into corporate control over a system branded as "for and by the People" but seldom used as such. We must divide and Conquer, as independent Nations working together for a better Humanity, not an Empire working to sustain its own inevitable demise.

As if the current administration is at fault for the deterioration of this nation...I've got news for you buddy, it's not to blame. The systemic problems of this nation, go back many, many years, and it's laughable how each president is blamed for all the problems. The current administration is doing nothing more than playing the same old tune in a different key. Your bi-partisan view of this country, as with all the other (good) citizens that actually believe there are two parties, is probably the lynch pin of this disaster we paradoxically call the "United" States. The constant division of people in America will keep us forever hopelessly divided until we can finally see that "We the People" must stand united against one common foe. What that foe is...well, look back over the last 100+ years and one thing remains constant. Figure it out.

The U.S. will NEVER get off it's collective a$$e$ and do anything about anything unless something happens to majorly piss EVERYONE off simultaneously. And we can simply FORGET ever be able to organize because it is TOO FREAKING LATE NOW for that; it will be STOPPED by any means necessary.

Psssst!

Here's a secret.

You elected them. You allow them to continue this tyranny. Not directly of course, but the combined factors of massive social apathy and victim mentality are the single greatest problem you all have.

So the government represents me does it? I beg to differ with you on many many levels but one big one is the fact that they're even talking to other countries. My government is not isolationist....I am. I think we should pull all foreign support close all borders and focus on things in this country and let the rest of the world be on their own. Instead my government thinks I want health care from them, that I want to pay my employees a higher wage when I've not yet gotten a salary in the last 5 years and most of my money goes out in taxes to pay for corrupt officials to go on holiday and send aid to the same countries who we shouldn't even be talking to. My government thinks going to war in countries that I don't give a damn about is what I want when all I want is to be left alone to live life the way I see fit. Here I can no longer speak freely about what I want in this country because it may offend someone, or some group of people....so until you've walked in my shoes you can't sit there and say that this government or anything it does represents me.
