Those guys taking over Ukraine do have Neo nazi links,no question.
Wouldn't that put off Merkel?
I would have thought so,but no she is supporting them, just like Dave scameron and Obama..

WTF is wrong with them? Supporting nazis for crying out loud!
If anyone ever had any rosy ideas about the EU being all lovey and benevolent-would you call ushering in a far right/nazi coup the actions of a decent regime?
And as for the US an UK using Nazis to aggitate Putin is damned shameful IMO.

Once again tough guy.... what would you suggest we do under the circumstances? Do you have a plan that would back Putin down? Is there conceivably any action that would stop what seems to be inevitable?

With Ukraine permission and VIA the defense pact signed in 1994. The USA starts to mass troops in the eastern side of Ukraine. Take key military choke points to stop the Russians from just walking in and setting up shop. It’s that simple. You can’t fight the Russians with words. Do as Reagan would do. Go toe to toe but don’t throw punches.

not doing anything risks a ww2 hitler style slow takeover.

All sorts of ultimatum are given in such situation. Media is making a big talk out of it. Last night they were saying that Russia has full operational control and today they are giving warnings of all sorts.

The main thing would be the Annexation Law that is being discussed in Russian parliament. Approval of that law would mean Russians would like to go and take East Ukraine also. That would be a subsantial development.

I'm facsinated by the recent news that RUSSIA has asked for a Security Council meeting.
For what purpose?
Is it for putting forward their own proposed solution to the crisis, i.e. presenting their demands?
Perhaps something like "If you will let us be guardians of an autonomous state in Crimea, we might be able to guarantee that the trouble doesn't spread further west".

What if Russia were to ask for help clearing out the neo nazi linked new leaders of Ukraine?
That would,if nothing else make the US/UK/EU look like good for nothing nazi supporters.

I can see why Putin does not want a far right country on Russia's doorstep-why can't the western leaders see that supporting nazis is a big no no?

At this rate I expect the new leadership in Ukraine to be ousted and Viktor Yanukovych to be re appointed.

Silicone, you and I have the same thoughts on this. Unlike the USA, Nazi Germany invaded Russia in WW2. Yet, here the USA and ALL of the now G7 Nations are supporting Nazi's. Proof that once again just like right before WW2, those that profit from war will ally themselves with Nazi's to make a buck.

Make no mistake I don't trust Putin. However I am starting to think he may be doing the right thing in Crimea.

That would be bad,but I don't see any good outcome in this situation.
The BBC news here in the UK are still saying this dawn ultimatum has been issued.
Tomorrow will tell.
Its 2hours ahead of UK time in Crimea BTW,so that would put sunrise tomorrow in Crimea at 4:55am UK time.

Its insane is it not?
I am having trouble taking it all in,seeing my government siding with fascists over rationality..
I am not a major fan of Putin either, but I tend to agree-he had to do something in this case or the far right would have the start of a powerbase right in between Russia and Europe.
Good grief,no one in their right minds wants to see that ideology make a comeback.

What times we struggle through.

Yep, major outlets are reporting a full denial this is true, which makes it fact, of course. Means it got leaked or discovered via someone besides Bagdad Bob.

I find this more alarming, however.

news.sky.com...

Chin is fully backing Russia, which we all knew or strongly suspected. No big surprise, but it sure hit the media faster than I expected.

How quaint, the same day, this story hits the news too...

freebeacon.com...

Capable of attacking US forces in Guam...

Who is actually beating the drums of war, here? China, Russia, or the media? It seems to me Russia is letting through intimidation pieces, and China is "helping".

Are we intimidated? They are, ipso defact, threatening US forces in Guam. Don't they have ICBM's?

Are they really trying to make us that paranoid, that we have to worry about troop reinforcement across the globe? At this point, any place within arms reach is in danger, based on these intimidation tactics.

My only question is, how long until NK gets into the mix?

This is madness. I have spent three days reading everything I can about what is going on. The Nazi links to The Revolution, the appointments of radical Nazi's to positions in the New Ukraine government are IMO intolerable.

That the USA is backing them is disgusting beyond reason. How is this not transparent to all that look?

Don't sweat the ultimatum, it's probably hogwash
Russia has/will gain more ground among the people if they are not aggressive
besides Why would they fire on people there supposedly there to protect? non-sense,propoganda

They won't attack the civilians,
But given the word, those Russian forces will take Ukranian Army bases by force.
And the Ukranians have said they will defend their bases.
Thats when others will get involved and this whole thing gets unpredictable and nasty.
I truly hope I am wrong.

I don't actually think anyone will get involved should that happen. Russia is not the Taliban and given that they are more than well equipped to defend themselves in that part of the world, not one outside country will intervene past "sanctions".

It's obvious because of the already lack of military response the Ukrainian generals do not have confidence in their new government, and well.. are crapping their pants considering tangling with Russia, I expect in time they will defect as others if order to do so.

Russian Defense Ministry dismisses Ukraine ultimatum reports as ‘total nonsense’
rt.com...

But the "Ultimatum" was reported by the ohh so "reliable" and "unbiased BBC"

Maybe this will help a bit: Neo-Nazis

And this: Neo-Nazis-2

Good read since so many compare Putin's actions to "Hitler's Annexations". So much for USA/NATO "Moral High Ground."

Good links
Starred for those. For what it is worth the USA has a long history with Nazi's. People forget that Hitler was funded by families like the Rockefeller's. They sold Nazi Germany most of it's fuel in WW2. Our Countries oldest families are rooted in racism and Nazi principals.

Economic sanctions .... Have Russia blackballed from the G-8 and the G-20.

Already happening. The G8 is calling themselves G7 this morning and all have pulled out fo the G8 summit in Sochi.

Money changed hands but there was technically no funding.Hitler and the Jewish bankers stopped handing money over when the majority of the bankers decided to declare war on Hitler instead of tolerating him.
The reason for the money changing hands was that Hitler agreed that the Jews should move and have their own homeland. Some Jews agreed.

Overall though they opposed eachother.

They aren't genuine Nazis, so don't worry. They have already admitted that they were funded and put into place with a false agenda by Israel and others. They have also gone against every policy that would make them Nazis.
Where the hell the real Nationalists or Nazis are i have no idea.

Do you honestly think the West would support a new National Socialist country where they would have no say in it? Not bloody likely.

It won't come to that.
I hate it when these type of things happen-And its never the "people"who engineer these situations.
They are planned,in advance by nasty financial/corporate and government collaborations.

Mussolini would have been proud.

Truth is,most regular people of most countries just want to live in peace and help make their society better.
Its a shame the mega corps do not want that IMO.
