I see, you are asking a good and legitimate question, and that is how this event would play out in the most official view of end-time prophecy. I don't think that requires being a Christian to be interested in. I am interested. In fact, I wish I knew more of the details and I was thinking of researching it a few days ago.
Off the top of my head, I have heard of these things:
*An army from the East (Russia or China) will eventually invade Israel and the Middle-Eastern areas
*The capitol of Syria, Damascus, will fall and be destroyed at some point
*The part about the peace treaty and the rebuilding of the Jewish temple, something to do with the Dome of the Rock
*7 years of Tribulation, with the halfway point being marked by the breaking of the treaty
*Someone possibly rising as a Muslim leader
Those are the pieces I remember from various sources, but they are good starting points.edit on 02pmSun, 02 Mar 2014 15:01:57 -0600kbpmkAmerica/Chicago by darkbake because: (no reason given)edit on 02pmSun, 02 Mar 2014 15:02:17 -0600kbpmkAmerica/Chicago by darkbake because: (no reason given)

How could this play out in a biblical timeline.
.............................
Yes thank you non believers, I know you think all this is bunk and myth, but some have been watching the signs and see a more than just coincidences.
Am I the only one?

I understand that YOU yourself are not making a prophecy, that is clear, no one denies it. But your are talking about a prophecy and trying to relate it to Russia and Ukraine, are you not? So why start a thread about a prophecy but then denie that it is a prophecy? Thats what I dont understand.

I looked into this a little bit and also found out that israelis jets took out a shipment of russian missiles. Its almost as if Israel is eggin on russia and Iran. Maybe they are trying to make people think that this is the end times by egging on Russia and Iran.
Could they fake or force a prophecy by doing something like that?

No, this is not a fulfillment of prophecy. There is no Biblical prophecy about Russia invading the Ukraine.
There IS a connection to Israel; Ukraine/Israeli dual citizens being behind the protests against the Ukraine government, but that's as far as any connection to Israel goes.
Every time someone in Russia farts, people haul out Ezekiel 38 and 39 and claim that Russia is going to invade Israel. Not gonna happen, because of Mutually Assured Destruction. Israel has hundreds of nukes. If you read those chapters you see that it says that Israel is "a land without bars or gates," "dwelling in peace and safety." Does that sound like Israel today? Furthermore, this prophesied "invasion" of Israel serves no geopolitical purpose in the modern world.
Gog and Magog are not Russia, anyway. They refer to the ethnic peoples around the Black Sea, such as the Ashkenazi.
Nothing in the news today looks anything like that prophecy, unless you think that the Ukraine is going to invade Israel with swords and horses and no air force or navy-because those are the only weapons mentioned in Ezekiel 38-39.

If you are refering to the Gog of Magog prophecy, then no. We as chhristians will not be on earth to see OT prophecy unfold. OT prophecy can not happen during the Church Age. The 1948-67 establishment of Israel is not prophecy, its the League of Nations/UN sticking its nose where it doesnt belong.
There are Church Age prophets and prophecies, but I dont know if this Ukrainian dispute qualifies.

When Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu visits the White House tomorrow,
President Barack Obama will tell him that his
country could face a bleak future -- one of
international isolation and demographic
disaster -- if he refuses to endorse a U.S.-
drafted framework agreement for peace with
the Palestinians.
WASHINGTON -- As Israel's Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flies to
Washington - due to arrive on Sunday
(March 2), to prepare for talks with
President Barack Obama at the White
House on Monday - it's clear that there
are several points of friction between
Israel and the United States.
