Russian MP Vyacheslav Nikonov on #r4today: 'Russia will do 'whatever it takes' to prevent Sevastopol becoming a base for US forces
What an odd comment to make. Needless to say if the US does put boots on the ground in Crimea Russia will not be given the choice as to whether the US move their navy in for a short term stay or not! The Russians have wanted a conflict from the very start and they will get one if they continue with their rhetoric and if they continue to move further into Ukraine.

IF a war starts it will spiral out of control , good luck defeating 30,000 Russian troops right in their backyard . If a war starts there is really not much left until someone hits the nuclear buttons ...

I seriously doubt US troops will be actively fighting for Ukraine. Ukraine is not a member of NATO and that is their problem. The US needs to back away until an actual NATO member like Poland is under attack. Forget the Budapest Memorandum, that was stupid and ill advised.

Smart move at this point the only way Russia will negotiate is if they see Ukrainians are willing to fight. Because even Putin doesnt want this to turn into a shooting war. And this forces the west to provide support if the Russians do attack there military. Win Win for ukraine. But is also dangerous i hope they dont intend on entering Crimea that would be a mistake so hopefully they just set up defensive positions to contain the russians for now. Though now that i think about it they could and use the same excuse as Russia by Kiev saying do to yhe troubles in Crimea were going to send in troops to help the ethnic russians being there still our citizens from harrasment from outside forces its our duty to protect all Ukrainian citizens from any threat. So we will be sending peacekeepers to the area. Be interesting because thats the same excuse the Russians. Meaning either the Russians would have to allow it or reveal that it was just a pretext to invasion.

No war is going to start.. it would have started last week.
There is no side in the right here and both sides Know it.

The rhetoric will bat and ball for months if not years.. but its not
going to be a war.

The West started it and got their fingers burnt... learn the lesson.

It's a bit naive to state that 'no war will start'. This thing seems to still be in the infancy stage and we don't know the true intentions of the Russians. Do they just want the port? The gas? To rebuild the USSR?

Truth is no one knows just yet, which is why other countries need to stay calm yet vigilant.

Ok sure no Putin didnt start this by sending Russian troops to hold an area in another country itts the wests fault. They used mind control to make Putin take actions against another country. Just stick to the facts which makes this an invasion crazy conspiracy theories aside. If he was truly concerned with ethnic Russians he would have went to the UN where Russia used to have alot of pull.

Took me a minute to figure out what your talking about but i see. Ok a t-64 is a Tank not a nuclear weapon. What your concerned with is Soviet Union produced 132 suitcase-sized, 10-kiloton nuclear weapons, but hasn't fessed up to where 84 of them are. So they are unaccounted for and conspiracy theorists like to claim the soviets buried them in the US. These things leak so much radiation there easy to detect and difficult to hide.

Actually, what I was being glib about is that it doesn't matter what a T-64 is...thus the T Rex joke....I was implying that a conventional war is so useless to discuss let alone the names of the weapons used to fight one...It is the nukes...whether satelite based, planes, tanks, subs, suitcases...the point is...that is the only point...NUKES....who gives a rats tail about the delivery system or the name or the size...quantity sure matters I suppose...that was and is my point....any war involving the U.S. vs Russia focuses on only one thing......NUKES.

We should know since we the American vanquished, have been losing battles since Wilson surrendered our Sovereignty to the Bank and don't get me started on the Patriot Act and everything since 9/11 Talk about vanquished and thanking them for it.......

No one seems to have even the slightest intelligence of how wars start out behind the scenes.

Do YOU really think the governments of our countries are going to spill to the global population what the next
disastrous move their going to make as a planned playing card on the table.

'NO'

Two words you may have heard before

Plausible Deniability,

This whole worlds economic infrastructure is controlled by the highest looniest cult of people you will never see or meet.
Higher than any chain of command were every single one of you don't count.

We live in a dog eat dog world,

We battle with the next best to earn our right to live within civil liabilities, where freedom is broken down in to laws to control
society to act and behave the way it should do.

Yet wars will rumble on for many thousands of years to come.

Nobody can judge when a war will happen and how wars will break out.

So when you all say a war will not come is this. I say the more you know the better, learn about your surroundings and the world you live in before you make a self judgment on what the mainstream media pushes into your head.

Maybe this type of war people are suggesting wont happen and peace will prevail for the few thousands but even more in this world there will always be a war no matter where or how it happens.

One day it will.

The Russians, Chinese, and the USA all have something in common... national pride. We would rather see it all fall, and build it back up before destroying the whole Earth. The only places that are a true nuclear threat are ones with little national pride and instead religious pride. Religious pride as in it is honorable to destroy Earth because it will mean no more infidels ( yay 72 virgins)

Prior to Wilson, in the Federal Reserve System, to the panic of 1907, to the Aldrich-Vreeland Act of 1908,then On to December 23, 1913, Congress passed the Federal Reserve Act.
Today brings us to.
The Nukes in the Ukraine Russia crisis, always established for such a scenario, the wealth injected, into the development and early usage, is now fulfilling the fear in which there manifestation, was originally conceived, but still it is futile, to wish any real development or outcome from an egotistical stance, on an ability to dominate, overpower, pacify, subdue, subject, subjugate, subordinate, conquer is this fear over us and the world the desire of you and I, if we look at the facts did you or I asked to be vanquished by our only crime existence in the monopoly that know brings us to this point in history to disagree to the point that elimination is the only answer or resolve to a crisis, or is this the capitalist fear installed in every beat of your heart to control, divide and break the will of men, the facts show us the following:
www.historylearningsite.co.uk...

The nuclear arms race was central to the Cold War. Many feared where the Cold War was going with the belief that the more nuclear weapons you had, the more powerful you were. Both America and Russia massively built up their stockpiles of nuclear weapons.
The world greatly changed when USA exploded the H-bomb in 1952. This one bomb was smaller in size than the Hiroshima atomic bomb but 2500 times more powerful. The Russians produced an H-bomb in 1953 and the world became a much more dangerous place.

bos.sagepub.com...

why is there a need to dominate=MONEY , overpower=MONEY , pacify=MONEY , subdue=MONEY , subject=MONEY , subjugate=MONEY ,subordinate=MONEY , conquer=MONEY

Here's the truth about our mentality: If we keep finding ourselves in a role, then maybe we need to look at our role?

See i dont think Putin thought this out very well hes driving all his neighbors right to the United States. Hes causing what he was trying to prevent! I guess on the plus side it will help the US economy looks like were going to be the major gas supplier of Europe.

4 Nations Urge US Gas Exports Amid Ukraine Crisis

Four Central European nations are urging the United States to boost natural gas exports to Europe as a hedge against the possibility that Russia could cut off its supply of gas to Ukraine.

Ambassadors from Hungary, Poland, Slovakia and the Czech Republic made their appeal Friday in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio. A similar letter was expected to be sent to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.

It’s an interesting point, it seems the strategy, was not as well thought out, as initially staged, or as you stated earlier on a post Mar, 8 2014 @ 11:55 AM, summarizing that gas subsides/payments has overwhelmed the country, along with some outlandish spending by those previously in charge, what a mess, so is this all really staged, to bring the Ukraine into the arms of Europe, at present they only have, I think, a European Neighborhood Policy but this still surprises me as France, has been adamant, in the weeks, before the real crisis, that the Ukraine would never, be an E.U member and has the power to veto this confused?

euobserver.com...

Observations, of France, at a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels last month, did not merely oppose any mention of Ukraine’s membership prospects in the ministers’ conclusions, but wanted to go further, inserting language to make clear that Ukraine will never become an EU member.
Poland wanted to give an enlargement promise. And Germany came up with a compromise, with ministers agreeing to say that an association and free trade agreement with the EU is not the "final goal" in EU-Ukraine relations.EU sources also cautioned against reading too much into the EPP statement, however. The contacts noted that the text represents a political group trying to give a political boost to Ukraine’s new government in the face of Russian hostility. But a formal EU statement on Ukrainian accession would have to be made by the EU Council, where the French, or any other EU country’s veto, can apply.

Although it is in the EU package
europa.eu...

• €3 billion from the EU budget in the coming years, €1.6 billion in macro financial assistance loans (MFA) and an assistance package of grants of €1.4 billion;
• Up to €8 billion from the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development;
• Potential €3.5 billion leveraged through the Neighborhood Investment Facility;

I. EUROPEAN COMMISSION (2014-2020)
I.1 Overall development assistance (grants) 1,565
Bilateral envelope, where:
- Annual Action Programme (AAP) for 2014 140-200
- AAPs (average) - for 2015-2020 780
- Umbrella programme ("more for more") for 2015-2020 240-300
Neighbourhood Investment Facility 200-250
Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace (IcSP) 20

I.2 Macro financial assistance (loans) 1,610

I.2 EUROPEAN FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS
EIB up to 3,000
EBRD 5,000

this package may have changed in the last 2 weeks

What is this really all about?

We have no infrastructure in place to just start exporting gas there and it'll take 6 to 10 years to develop one.

I've heard that talked about on the news as well. As well as the lack of infrastructure, it'd be expensive to ship.
There's nothing immediate, and the EU relies on that gas from Russia.

Any time there's any interruption in delivery, or even the thought of an interruption, anywhere, the prices rise.
It's already gone up 5 cents a litre in the past week.
