You guys really need to live in the now and stop with the nuclear weapons threat. Russia is not going to use nukes.

You are bang on the money............and Obama is going to do diddley squat as well......and Putin is well aware of that.

Whatever Putin has planned he will do....and no one will stop him, but I doubt very much it involves nukes.

Conservatives are such hypocritical idiots. Start threads about Obama when he helps a country out..saying we are not the world`s police....then turn around and rag on him for not doing something in another country.

Jeez..you should keep your faux outrage straight.

Obama should lead, not follow.

Really, how hard is this to figure out?

He should be writing policy, not reacting and following all the time.

Thank you beezer..but I want to also figure his/her angle of it just being a conservative issue...
I would also like to understand why it is the blame amongst others that it's the fault of past administrations for what is happening now. As we speak Russia has taken over an airport. Half of Ukraine wants Russia there. While the other wants a better life they feel fit.
Folks need to understand that "now" is what matters..it's the current world government that is calling the shots.
But its the people of the Ukraine that has to live with the decisions of government.

People concerned at the lack of stance and laid back attitude from Obama ...

Well it's a EU party, he's surely not going to be bothered because it's the EU who will kick Russia out and the US will stand behind as in WWII and kick lumps out of Russia

And then there's china

It's clear as day the US will be taking the East Asia theatre again this time round while playing only air supporting roles in Europe

Obama is right, there will be costs. Russia will have to pay some money to rebuild infrastructure in Crimea after Russia steals it.

Seems Mr. Putin has not forgotten the " Brezhnev Doctrine " , but Has forgotten that the CCCP no longer Holds Power in Russia , or does it in a Covert Military Sense ? The " Buffer State " Defense might still be a Logistical Goal of the present Russian Govertment , does it not ? If so , then Putin's actions make more sense here .

Any action Putin takes under the guise of invading surrounding countries because they might join NATO will only force those countries closer to NATO / EU / West.

LOL , what if Canada decided to become Part of Communist China ? What would be the U.S. reaction to that ? An Independent Ukraine would pose a Serious Threat to Russia's Boarders , can you blame them for wanting to Prevent that ?

I just want to thank you for an absolute perfect post. So often those of us who can't watch videos are left wondering what really is being talked about.

Thanks for reminding us all how it should be done, great job.

Reading it I am surprised he said that much lol. I really dislike putin, I was in the military in a time when he was what we were facing. To that I mean all of Russia felt like he does and they were brutal everywhere in the world. They softened for a while but now kgb back with vengeance.

You have to give it to him though, he got big ones... Lol... He is shrewd and ruthless and as corrupt as they come. Someday he will be dead in the street, killed by his own people for stealing from them. Can you say thirty billion missing from Olympics lol.

We should have let Patton keep going like he wanted to. Lol sooner or later we will be at war and the world will be over. Too many nukes and so little time to use them. He has to do it before 2016 to stop elections and declare martial law. Hmmmmm

Some of you expect too much from Obama, fact is, in matters of foreign policy he could not care less. He gives it zero focus, he delegates it all and goes with whatever is written for him.

Obama's enemies are all domestic, the rest of the world will have to wait for a president that gives a damn, he is simply too busy trying to destroy...er "change" the USA.

The events of the past several months remind us of how difficult democracy can be in a country with deep divisions. But the Ukrainian people have also reminded us that human beings have a universal right to determine their own future.

I laughed when I read this part. I think what the prez forgot to add was "That human beings have a universal right to determine their own future, so long as it doesn't interfere with the U.S Gov"

Is it just me or did the Prez flip flop sides during that speech. I thought he started off talking about supporting the citizens of Ukraine but then it seems like he flopped over to the Government side. anyone else got that impression or is just this terrible head cold I have?

Putin has done what he had to do. If the gas pipelines get destroyed, the EEC would be whining as they are freezing there buts off during the next freeze. Wondering why he did nothing! Putin would get no Gas revenue for Russia's modernisation. So far its 2000 troops guarding key installations hardly an invasion. On the plus side he might have defused the next Syria.

If i were a Ukrainian malcontent.. I might
think severing the gas pipelines over and over was a
cool thing to do.

The gangsters wont get paid if the junk isn't delivered.

I would think were that to happen would be inviting a Russian push into Ukraine proper.I also wouldn't put it past agents to do just that to give the Russians the excuse they need to roll tanks to Kiev.

What?? He spoke of the need for the Ukranian people to determine their own future and pursue a course that would stabilize the country HA!!!! Don't you people no that all we have been doing all over the world is destabilizing country after country so as they don't stay or become a sovereign nation. And the reason for this is so that they never become a strong organized civilization that just might be a threat to the real agenda of this little thing called new world order. They will do everything including suicide to ensure their little plan is successful, even though, in the end of this game, there are no winners.

Trust the oval office idiot to go waving his gums, without engaging his brain, I was thinking "how long is it going to be before the oval office idiot starts", putting on his spoilt little girl in a school play act, singing louder......look at me, look at me!!, he will never learn. Send him over there on a peace keeping mission, put him in the thick of it, it will solve a lot of problems. No need to fly him there, as he can walk on water.........on his own mind!!. Idiot!!

As I thought, this could get heated. I would not be surprised if we saw a war in Ukraine.

Hopefully it would be contained. Hopefully there is no draft... think about this, the economy is bad, tons of people to draft under 30. Now we'll all be shipping out, right?

When it comes to foreign policy, Obama does tend to do a lot of political speech - I can't think of the right words, exactly - he speaks but doesn't say anything of importance. Just like when he spoke today.

However, there will probably be pressure on him to do something of importance regarding Ukraine, especially with Russian troop movements into the area - Russia is already fed up with the U.S.

and Russia also thinks that the gunshot wounds on the civilians were inflicted by right-wing protesters, the same ones that ousted the government there.

Obama Skips National Security Team Meeting Re: Russia & Ukraine

According to Time magazine's Zeke Miller, Obama skipped the meeting. "Obama did not attend the meeting, but WH official says he has been briefed by Susan Rice and his national security team," says Miller.

So we at least know he's informed and engaged. After all, Susan Rice was spot on with what happened at Benghazi....
