Would you like to be a reporter?
ATS News Network has gone through constant evolution from the beginning. And that evolution continues today...
One thing that has always been talked about is the quality of content found in our news network here at AboveTopSecret.com. The volume of content
alone is massive. The contributors diverse and fascinating. ATSNN seems to get better with every new topic and discussion. But like always people have
opinions on how it can be even better. Well, I'm not going to change that by writing this, nor am I going to make ATSNN a better place for everyone
alone. But anyone who is willing to put some effort into learning how to do real investigative journalism and contribute to ATSNN, high quality,
original, conspiracy related news article submissions, would not only give themselves great exposure to vast numbers of readers, they would also
improve ATSNN for themselves and this amazing on-line community.
I found a website that may help anyone who is interested. The name is NewsU as in News University. www.newsu.org...
NewsU is a project of the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, NewsU provides training for beginners, as well as veterans. It is an E-learning
website, which offers on-line courses. Some pay services mainly for groups, but much of what is available there is totally FREE.
I strongly encourage anyone interested in News Journalism for on-line publication in ATSNN, to register at NewsU and check out the free courses.
You may be surprised at how much you'll find there, and how much you will learn through taking these self-learning courses at your own pace. A good
course to start with is "Cleaning Your Copy".. Below you'll see the course objectives..

Cleaning Your Copy
Upon completing this course, you will be able to:
Spot and solve grammatical problems in your copy.
Pick the right word when choosing between that/which, that/who, who/whom and other tricky pairs.
Use the correct style for addresses, ages, money and numbers.
Spot and solve bad punctuation, such as the poor use of commas, semicolons and apostrophes.
Correctly spell words that are tough to get right.
Avoid typos caused by homonym trip ups.

The above is just one example of many free courses you can take at your own pace at NewsU.
No special software needed. Some courses require the Flash plug-in.
If you are really into ATSNN, and enjoy finding and submitting news through the community news portal of AboveTopSecret.com. I recommend the above
website to you, and urge you to at least register and check out the free stuff. From there what you learn, and what you do with it is up to you. First
see how much you can improve your news submissions in ATSNN. As you move through more courses, perhaps you will be able to submit an exclusive news
report to ATSNN, an exclusive interview, etc.
It can't hurt to check it out. Right?
