The Kecksburg UFO Incident
A fire in the sky, an acorn-shaped object partially buried in the ground, odd hieroglyphic markings, the military restricting access to the site, a
possible government cover-up -- all in Westmoreland County and it's all a part of what's known as the UFO incident in Kecksburg. Friday will mark
the 40th anniversary of that incident, when numerous people witnessed a fireball streak across the skies in the late afternoon.
China Receives $20 million to Build UFO Research Base
Authorities in Guiyang, capital of Guizhou Province, announced Monday that they had received $20 million from a Taiwan-based company to construct a
UFO research base. Some people in the city's Baiyun District believe they were visited by aliens in 1994, and with this new research base, they hope
to reproduce the mysterious moment, through photos and historical documentation.

How the Brain Tunes out Background Noise
Special neurons in the brain stem of rats focus exclusively on novel sounds and help them ignore predictable and ongoing noises, a new study finds.
The same process likely occurs in humans and may affect our speech, and even help us laugh.
On His Path
The cult of Ram Bomjon, whom some are calling the ‘new Buddha’ of Bara district, has spread far beyond the villages of the terai. An internet
search on the 15-year-old produces thousands of results from every continent. In the jungle where the young man has been silently meditating beneath a
pipal tree for the last six months, reportedly without food or water, pilgrims still flock to see him.
Did Easter Island
Get 'Ratted' Out?
The fate of the people who built hundreds of 10-ton stone statues on the South Pacific island and then vanished has long been seen as a cautionary
environmental tale. Natives deforested the island paradise to transport the statues, the story goes, triggering erosion that damaged farmlands. And
then they supposedly bumped themselves off in a cannibalistic civil war in about 1650.
Parents Insist Their 'Indigo Children' Can
See The Future
Indigo advocates believe that many children born after 1975 possess an Indigo-color aura around them and unique almost supernatural traits. To the
rest of the world, these kids may appear to be unruly and their parents may have gone overboard in the coddling of their children. Indigo kids bristle
at authority and have little patience. Their advocates say they act like royalty and have no guilt. Simple acts, like waiting in lines, drive them
crazy. Their parents are sure they can see the future and talk to angels.
